WTB: Short Throw Shifter

Im looking for a short throw, thats in good shape. it'd be nice if it came with a knob too.

well you can either re-thread it or just weld a knob on. the next step would be to strip some of the paint off above the ball. then using a vice, hammer, etc move the ball up on the shifter, making sure you dont damage anything in the process. then weld the ball in place, or im sure jb weld would work as well. and now you have shorter shifter with a shorter throw.

I did a how-to on toprotege.com

but basicly youomove the ball that is at the bottom of the shifter about 20mm up.
you do this by hammering it up or if you can't then you need to grind it a little, move it and then make couple welds so it holds in place, takes couple hours if you paint it too

isn't stock msp shifter, the same as regular protege shifter, just without extension

No it's a bit shorter. The MSP and MP3 are the same throw but different thread. Which reminds me, I have a MP3 shifter with the stock knob for $60 if you're interested

have a spare oem one if anyone is interested in modding their stock one. Never hurts to have a spare laying around when you go to hacking.
