WTB roof rack MAZDA 3 GT SPORT

Hey Guys, Anyone have for sale a roof rack for the mazda 3 sport. I WISH the one from my protege5 fit, but it doesn't (encourage THanks in advance.

have you tried contacting your dealer? You'd have better luck I'm sure. And if you cant find one in the Montreal area you could try ordering one from a dealer in the states.

Yeah reason why I'm asking people is if they're selling theirs used. The new ones from the dealer are crazy expensive. Just trying to save so I can do more biking, than not having money to go biking but have a roof rack... lol kinda ironic

hey man, i have a 3, and i have a thule roof rack... doesnt look too bad i dont think, and a hella lot easier to use carrin around a bike/kayak *for me anyways* than throwin it in the back.... www.thule.com and that should help ya out.. good luck!

I just pulled the rain gutter trim pieces off my MS3 and I can see two very stout mounting brackets with a single threaded hole. Anyone know if these are similar to other Mazda roof rack mounting points? My thinking is that it may be easy to just go to a junkyard and get them off another car, then just trim the rails and cross bars to fit. By the way, if you want to remove the trim pieces, I just popped the one off the back, then the middle to you lift the outside up.

I think I'm going to go with just one of those trunk kits. I really don't want to be carrying that rack or a hitch all the time with the extra weight and aero drawbacks.

For those who are interested, I was seriously looking at getting a Westin kit which seems to have a single screw mount tower for trucks, either for racks or for their through-hole systems (for camper tops, or permanent rooftop installations). For reference, the MS3's holes are M6X1.0 thread, approximately 103.5mm side to side and 67.7mm front to back.

Rola makes a roof rack that looks EXACTLY like a p5 factory rack.

Those Rola cross bars look great. Do they use the stock mounting points? Do you know if Yakima, Rocky Mount, Thule or other parts can bolt to those cross bars? It does not look like Rola makes trays.

Yea they do, there are anchors under the rain gutters. Im using a thule snowboard carrier. I just got the carrier that said it would fit on OEM racks, so I would assume all parts made for OEM racks will work.
