Hey guys, I am new to this forum, but not new to Mazdas. I owned a 1996 Black Miata for a little under a year, and loved the car, just not the space. I am now looking at buying a Protege 5. I like the look, and they seem to have a decent reputation. I have found a few on craigslist within this price range, but I would prefer a car from someone who actually appreciates the car. The car I get, I will be repairing the body rust, and having painted back to factory color. Anyways, here is what I am looking for in a P5.
Year: Any
Color: Any
Interior Condition: Any
Rust: Obviously expecting some, but please try to consider that I am going to be repairing this car, I want it be repairable.
Mileage: Under 120k is ideal. Any records of maintenance carry heavy weight.
Transmission: 5 speed, no automatics of any kind.
Location: New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, or Vermont.
I am not looking to spend anything over 3500, that may seem low, I am not exactly sure, but I have seen other p5's in my area go for that cost, but it is a combination of sellers not looking to sell, and me questioning if these people truly took care of their vehicles. I would much rather purchase from an enthusiast.
