WTB (or trade) - Mantaray Motorsports BRACKETS

I know this is a long shot...but I have a set of Wedge Engineering (Sparco) seat brackets. These brackets worked perfectly for my Torino STYLE seats, but I recently picked up a new set of seats, and the mounting points are different on the base / rails.

From my understanding, the Mantaray brackets are wider than the Wedge Brackets. If you use the Mantaray brackets on Sparco seats, you need an adaptor in order to make them more narrow. Whereas the Wedge brackets do not need any adaptor as they line up perfectly.

Anyway, my hope is to find someone willing to either sell me their brackets, or better yet, trade with me. If it's a trade, I'd be willing to throw in some extra cash for your efforts.

If anyone has Mantaray brackets and would be willing to help out, please let me know.

Thanks

I've got a set of the Mantaray brackets that I've lightened considerably. I could possibly be interested in a trade + some money since I've put in a ton of work to make these work with my Momo seats and cut their weight from 10lbs ea. to 5lbs ea. Can you get me pictures with measurements of your brackets along with what they weigh. If I do the trade I'll probably have to rework my seat mounting all over again so make it worth my while.

I'll get pics and measurements for you and will PM you once I have them (hopefully tonight). Can you do the same for me (measurements, etc.) so that I can verify whether they will work 100% or not.

What did you do to lighten your brackets? Nothing that compromised the strength of them I would assume....right?

How much $$$ would you be looking for on top of the trade?

Here's the the pics of the Wedge Brackets.

Measurements were taken from the centre of the hole to centre of the hole.
Weight of each bracket is 11 lbs

Picture #1 - shows measurements
Picture #2 - shows Wedge identification label on passenger bracket
Picture #3 - shows Bracket mounted (without nuts) on bottom of Torino Style seat (I have other pics with the sign showing if you need them, but the sign somehow made too much contrast or something and the pics weren't very defined)
Pictures #4 & #5 - show bracket lined up with holes in car. If you zoom, everything's not lined up 100% perfectly because there's no bolts to hold it in place in the pictures. But I assure you everything mounts up perfectly, and my driver's seat in the picture is fully installed on the same backet (driver's side).

and lastly, a picture of the rails on the new seat showing the dimensions I'm looking for in a new bracket (hopefully these are what the Mantaray brackets are like).

the more I look at it, I'm starting to think yours are going to be exactly the same as mine, only mine have the 2 extra bars added to them for mounting. Whereas yours need the adaptors for mounting. I think if I was to have those two mounting brackets removed from mine and then strategically place replacements, they should work.

But if you wouldn't mind letting me know the measurements of yours, that would be very helpful.

thanks

Well...it's not good timing for me right now. The next month will be very busy with 4 major races I'll be attending. I probably won't have time to do any kind of exchange until after that. I'll try and get you measurements when I get a chance.

not to worry. I was talking to someone from the Toronto Protege Club, and it seems my brackets will work fine if I just get the height adjusters. That way I can mount directly above the curved rails. What was throwing me off was that it was mounted to those 2 extra bars that mine have welded on them, and the new seats didn't line up to those. So it looks like I'll be fine with these brackets.

Thanks anyway though.

apparently it's both of the above that are required. One is the actual adaptor, and the other is all of the required nuts, bolts, etc.

They always screw you in the end. If it's any help...I know that Home Depot sells the bolts to hold the risers to the brackets, but I don't remember the size.

No worries. I'm getting it all from a buddy of mine from the Toronto Club at a fraction of the above prices. He's a dealer, so he gets better prices than what JRP offers. And I'll have everything tomorrow, so I'll get the seats in just in time for our huge meet (Meeting of the Mazdas) this weekend. There should be about 200 + Mazdas in attendance. Our Club personally has 52 Proteges signed up so far. (rockon)
