WTB: MSP Transmission

Got my 02 Protege with its POS transmission. 3rd gear is a pain and I have to hold it in place every time. Now I am looking for a MSP trans in good shape to replace it with. Let me know what you have!

edit: check your motor mounts....popping out of 3rd gear is a problem some people had when there mounts were GONE

It pops out and occasionally grinds for no reason.

Also I have the older transmission that is weak.

well grinding could be a clutch on the way.....i know mine is....and yes 3rd grinds going in....just pick which way ya go....pick up a cheap protege tranny...maybe get a lsd and run with it....not too much ya can do about gear sets with out shelling out like 600 per gear

It ONLY grinds 3rd gear. I have to shift without the clutch for it to grind in any other gear.

If I were to do that I might as well just get a transmission rebuild kit. Know where?

I've got one with 48k on it -the LSD that a guy was spose to have paid me for the past couple days but hasn't. I want $550 shipped for it and there's no grinding what so ever in any of the gears. Gonna give the guy another day then it goes back up for sale.
