WTB: MSP Engine - long block for a 2003.5

Hey All,

My MSP needs a new motor its a 2003.5, the current motor has a spun bearing, I want to try to get this thing back on the road as quickly as possible so am willing to move quickly if someone is willing to ship the thing to Ontario Canada, please let me know what you got and I will make payment quickly if we can come to terms.

Try Protege Garage or Speed Circuit both great vendors. There is a local shop down here in opa locka that sells jdm long blocks, called al Japanese check with them and see what the shipping would be.

I was about to offer to rebuild it for you, but you are in Canada, and I am in S. Louisiana.
With shipping, parts, and labor, you'd be in it deeeeep.

look for a protege 5 bottom end its the same from factory unless ur going forged.

Appreciate the response, this is my older platform so I dont want to build it out at this point, just for comparison sake can you PM me your parts/labor less shipping just so I have something to compare too, If I cant figure this out soon I'm considering parting the thing out.

its the same as any other protege engine. just grab one from the junkyard... youll have to change your main bearing support (upper oil pan) over but thats about it.

Shipping freight on an engine across the border to and from would be around $1,200
Then another $2,200 in parts. A spun bearing usually chews the crank up pretty bad.
The $1,100 in labor (11hrs) to teardown, machine, hot tank, re-install.

Thats a lot of money and a lot of downtime on your car.

Go scour local salvage yards for an 01 - 03 engine, and swap over the upper oil pan.
