Wtb Mp3

I'm looking for an MP3 in CA, preferably close to san francisco. (I'm in woodside/redwood city)

I don't particularly care about miles, but the car has to be in fairly good condition. I'd rather have a stock car, but I wouldn't mind Intake/header/exhaust, audio, or suspension mods as long as stock ride height is maintained. My price range is now 9000-10000, though I wouldn't pay 10k unless it was really a good deal (think AWR header).

The other car I'm looking for is the 2000 subie impreza RS, which has a 25hp advantage on the mp3. What I was looking for in a car was a four door with good room, but also a balance with gas mileage and speed. The stock RS would eat a stock MP3 alive speed-wise, but the sedan versions are even rarer than the MP3, and carry a higher pricetag. oh well.

edit: I posted in non-vendor for sale section also. that post is more or less identical to this one. the mods can decide if thats double posting or not.

finally get the money together man? pm dominoy2k1. i think he was selling his to his brother or soemthing but the deal might have fallen through or soemthing. if you goto autotrader.com and type in 2001 mazda protege, manual transmission, blue and yellow only it will show you the mp3's for sale around the nation. there are a few around 9k there now. good luck! its a damn great car.

I'll sell you mine. It's bone stock. Very clean. Although I am clear across the country. I wonder how much it would be to ship from Atlanta to CA. (thumb)

yeah, I've been saving every penny from my job. The accident set me back, but I'm in business again. good to hear you finally sold your mp3 mp3architect. Anyhow, I have been checking autotrader, nothing much to report, and craigslist for local listings. I just use the search function in the browser to zip through the proteges to get to the mp3's. I'm still poking around for a subaru to testdrive, I already did one on a protege, and was impressed. I'll pm dominoy. Thanks!

to hell with the Subie. they weigh alot more than the mp3 and don't handle nearly as well and are ugly as hell and nobody likes them. drive an MP3 and you'll never want anything else. the Mazdas have better build quality, too, and are alot more reliable.

i dont know about the sedan versions being rarer . i have seen alot more impreza's then the mp3 but i think my mp3 is way better looking and handles better.

Whoops. Didn't mean the 2002+ RS impreza. Meant the 2000 impreza RS. kerb weight is roughly the same as the mp3, and the looks are good. It is essentially the 2000 impreza, but with the 2.5 engine from the larger outback. Here's pics!

the RS has 165 bhp and 162 ft/lbs of torque, while weighing in at about the same as the mp3, at 2600-2700lbs kerb. The weight is really good, especially considering the AWD and the larger engine. Reliability, 2000-2001 were the golden years, when they switched to the more reliable SOHC 2.5l from the DOHC. Only disadvantage is an observed gas mileage of 25. The mp3 is obviously better at handling, but the subie would have the launch advantage and the ability to get on the gas earlier in a corner exit.
