I'm looking for a transmission for a 2003.5 MSP to purchase. The dealer wants $1800 for a used transmission! So, needless to say I'm looking for a slightly cheaper alternative. Any help in pointing me in right direction would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Whats wrong with your current one....I'd suspect a broken diff?
If so..Why not replace the Diff with an upgraded version?
It would be a lot cheaper than $1800.
thanks for the links, i do have a question.. would a normal 2003 protege 5spd tranny work? or is the one in the msp just hardened alot more for the extra power?
its been floating around that the ford probe gt trans is a do-able swap.....maby consider researching that, i think it would be bad ass having that longer first gear, not to mention 6 all together...

I sheared my 3rd gear completely and messed up the other ones...... It was still under warranty for me so they put a brand new on in for free... is yours still covered

its a clutch related issue which could point towards neglect depending on milage...also gotta remember as of this year unless you have an extended warrenty all mazda factory warrenties are done for the MSP
