Any of you 1.6L guys who moved to a CAI...help me out

Need the top part of the stock airbox that your MAF mounts to.....

Anybody got one ????

umm..I want a used one

I'm not paying the stealership for an airbox.......

why DID you post that ????

WTB = WANT TO BUY. I just learned that after your reply. If a mod wants to delete all this crap I just posted, feel free. Save me the embarrassment. Whoops.

bleh sorry not me. Maybe look around the junk yards? Im sure that this kind of part just has to be around junk yards, hehe.
also, if you wont have any luck, contact Kaptain KRM P5 aka Ken. He could probably get you one

not around here...not many junkyards here with newer cars....

I'm not paying stealership prices for an airbox, not even discounted from Ken....

All I need is the top part, so I'm hoping for some help from a member

As many guys as there are with CAI's, somebody has to have one

1.6l owners are a bit attatched to there airbox becuase we wind up putting them back on when we realize that cai comes with a cel.
I would personally like to get the bottom part of one for some experiments. Ie cutting up the bottom and tried to get some decent ram effect.

My CAI has yet to throw me a CEL. I have my stock airbox in my apartment, collecting dust. I can sell you my bottom half if you're interested.

Some CAI will thow a CEL voltage out of range or to high or low if the pipe is to big around the MAF. To much volume of air getting past the MAF. Also note I belive there was recall on TPS sensor for the 1.6s which an CAI will bring out the the bad TPS sensors. Do you have code reader and no what the CEL is.

On some cars guys though a massive intake pipe in with a huge SS filter to get more unresesticted air in the motor only to find the MAF out of rang code. In order to prevent the CEL you can install a resector before the sensor. I had to do this when I tried out a Blitz ram air intake with huge Stainless Steel very free flowing filter on my 03 WRX.

when you said resector, you mean RESISTOR ??? If so what kind did you use...I am having trouble installing a different CAI on my 1.6L and I know it's due to the size of the pipe, like you said...
