a friend of mine has a wrx..he thinks he'll beat me hands down on asphalt... from a start.. it's bone stock.. no mods what so ever.

i got the car in december with a few feet of snow.. now like any FWD car i lose traction and i can't try him out yet..

what are my chances of atleast holding on to him from a stop light?

i mean that awd hes got to carry becomes a ball and chain once you reach a certain speed... not to mention mechanical drag and friction..

btw im bone stock for now but in spring im installing a CAI, bov and maf relocation. the stock boost right now is at 7 psi. i dunno how it,s gonna be with a CAI if the boost ever would go higher.

yeah but it depends on the driver and how much pity he has for his clutch and drivetrain.. a co worker has a 4 door civic with a H22A in it and he screws them. he loses the first 60 feet and then it's bye bye..

you'll probably lose from a stop. older wrxs have weaker transmissions so that'll come into play for his launch technique. from a roll, i think it's pretty even.

it's a 4 door sedan.. same weight as a protege IMO.. as for 190 hp.. yeah but it's got 160 lbs of torque at like 4500rpm.. and since torque gets ya moving..

but yeah.. from a start i srely lose.. but a rolling start, i m gona have to try it out..

how much does a msp do in the 0-60 range??

--- if you ever race an AWD vehicle, don't go from a stop, see if they'll go from a roll.

That said i don't know that you'd be able to beat the car even from a roll.

I dont know, I beat one from a roll (30-80) and all I had was 8psi, AFC, catless dp, and he was running 16psi, and a full 3in turbo back and intake, I pulled about one car.

stock for stock though i think the wrx would take it assuming approximately equal drivers.

But enough of the guessing, just do it fr0st!! Only one way to really find out. I recall i played a bit with a wrx from a stoplight, before i had the unichip. He had at least an exhuast, i dunno what else. He didn't launch from the stoplight, and i didn't launch particularly hard (i woulda just wheel hopped), but i got on it and when he saw me pull he did too, he stayed right about at my back bumper till i let off (at the speed limit).

I beat a wrx from a stop when my car was stock. although he had like five people in the car including the driver. it was so much fun racing people untill I got stopped by the police and had to goto court and pay my damn lawyer 1200 to get me out of the trouble. fortunatly I was able to get the lawyer and he got it dropped to a 40 in a 35 payout ticket woohoo. I think the guy I was racing lost his liscense for 6 months though

I was running stock boost with my old corksport exhaust and hardpipes and I pulled on a WRX on the freeway from 60 to 100 by about 3 cars. The WRX had exhaust and that was probably it. Same scenario with a more modded WRX and he pulled about a car from 60 to 75. Then I was caught up to him by 95 mph. I then slowed down but I'm confident I would have at least a car or 2 on him by the end of 4th gear. This was at 8 lbs and with my newly installed GHL, and hi boost fmic. From a stop I wouldn't race a wrx stock or not. So I'm gonna back up Ian on this. I believe you. Not to mention the 16 psi he was running isn't a big deal. Dont wrx's run 1 Bar(14.7 psi) stock anyways?

i raced a wrx last summer when i was on 10 psi CAI cork sport exhaust and MBC he ripped me bad off the line but i caught him in 3rd and pulled him by a car. call it he was a bad driver i called it fun
