Wrx vs. Speed6 (track obviously ;-D )

So me and my buddy were talking about our cars today and we brought up a pretty good question... Would I (Mazdaspeed 6) be able to beat his WRX?

I think he'd absolutly destroy me cause he's got a full cat-less, turbo back STi Exhuast, STi (top mount) intercooler and a CAI. While mine is bone stock.

He has driven my car and thinks it'd be pretty close but I think thats just my torque talking cause my car only puts out 274hp while his is now probably close to the same if not more and is probably quite abit lighter. Both cars are AWD so that is canceled out.

What do you think? We haven't talked about racing cause... I dunno, niether of us wants to lose lol. We like the mystery of who has the better car I guess.

Also, how bout a Mazdaspeed 6 vs. WRX stock for stock?

What kind of track are you talking about, dragstrip or road course? At the dragstrip, if he's got an 02-06, he could break his tranny. WRX trannies aren't that good and tend to break. But it really depends on the driver for either track racing.

It'd be on the drag, I don't trust myself in the AutoX yet. I just got my baby lol.

And he got it 3 years ago, I didn't have my license at the time so I never drove it, I got mine and of course, he wanted to try it out so I let him... Never really needed or wanted to drive his.

My friend who has an 06' WRX, he went to the strip and ran a 13.8@9 stock. Then he got a downpipe and ran 13.3@100. He's on his 2nd or 3rd tranny with a whole bunch of mods.

Why do you not trust yourself at an Autocross? How is Drag racing "safer" for your car?

so pretty much autox is safer and from what i hear, alot more fun then driving in a straight line lol

No I don't trust myself pushing my car to much and ******* something up... I dunno, it's my paranoia. I know the strip is alot more harmful, but I'm just dumb.
