WRX owners are some funny....

You really shouldnt grab the EB while moving in these cars. The car has a lockign rear differential which I hear, it isnt good to pull the ebrake in it while moving....

no.
but he could have avoided that little incident if he had.

probably not, he was going way too fast into that turn, no e-brake would help it stop from diving into the bank.

considering he had abs, ebrake prolly woulda just made him slide into faster if anything since its not like he just went full throttle into that thing

I think it's hilarious that when people see a version of their car become successful in some sort of racing, they think their exact car is capable of the same thing.

Well it does have the same capabilities, if you switched the suspension and other things.........They use the same chasis so yes anything they do with the rally car you could do with you wrx, you would just have to modify it to fit what you want to do with it. Same goes with any car.

You can't say your car has the same capabilities as a race car........if you switch this and that. You have to change things to make your car as capable. This douche obviously thought he was some Petr Solberg but instead showed the world that he's a fucktard that doesn't deserve 4 wheels.

well first off the STi is great for rallying due to the fact that the rear diff is disengaged when you yank the ebrake to avoid and drivetrain binding. He could have pulled the ebrake in the WRX and as long as he pushed in the clutch would have been fine just put a little wear and tear on the drivetrain

however the biggest reason that happened the way it did is because of ABS hence the reason i was pointed out. Think of it this way he was on gravel the second he applied anybit of braking force the wheels are going to want to try to lock up a little bit and the way the stock ABS is setup it is going to be very sensitive. So traveling at that speed he hits the brake ABS kicks in and provides enough force to keep the wheels from locking up which in the case of the gravel is very very very little force which means he just snowplowed the car into the embankment....the smart idea would have been to pull the ABS fuse. BTW i do have a little experience with this just it was in a brand new 4runner on the slick floor of my shop.

maybe ebrake to get the ass end out where it should be for the corner, then gas to pull him out? i'm guessing that was far from the driver's mind though, he wanted to stop, and that meant no gas in his mind

he had aftermarket rims, and some intake piping, it's a fair bet he was lowered as well.

I have a wrx, I have taken it off road, but nothing like that. I'm not effing retarded, I like my car and can't afford to **** it up.

That being said, my WRX feels pretty tough to me, but I'm not trying to test it's limits anytime soon. Stock ride height has some pretty good ground clearance. I don't care about "wheel gap", because that which some people see as ugly to me looks like suspension travel.

Yes, my WRX does lean in turns, and eventually - I'll probably opt to install some of Perrins suspension offerings, but my ride height will not change. Also, that very same lean which some people hate is also what clues me into the fact that I am putting extra stress on my tires.

Treat your car well, and it will be more likely to return the favor.
