Woot for someone scraping my car in the first week I got my car

Is it actually scratches/scraped down into the paint, or is it just a surface scuff?

If its just a bad scuff I would go grab some Scratch-X by Meguiars. They say the stuff works for medium scratches, but I don't think it works that well for that. If you put some elbow grease behind it though it will get out some pretty nasty scuffs.

Yes try scratch X or a medium cut polish to buff it out.
I would avoid wet sanding if you don't have any experience. You can make a big mess with wet sanding and you will still have to polish the marring from the sand paper.
A new bumper or even repainting the whole bumper would be a waste.

+1

If it is a scuff, it will come right out with scratch-x. Has definitely helped me out a few times.

Ya its not that deep so Im going to pick up some Scratch-X tomorrow and ill try it out and ill you guys know how it goes.

Would like GI Joes have it do you think or should i try an auto shop

if u sand it make sure you hit with compound the follow up with a polish and wax but the paint is easy to go threw on plastic panels

Old picture from last week right after I got it. Already removed it.

And im picking up Scratch-X today after I get off work hopefully that will work

One word of advice. Elbow grease, apply lots of pressure and it works great. Lightly rubbing the stuff in won't do much from what I've seen.

I've gotten some relatively nasty scuffs and some light scratches out, but your arm will hurt after.

Make sure you wax over the area though, Scratch X removes any wax, coatings, etc from the paint/clearcoat.

Same happened to me dude school parking lot and everything. Didn't know who it was and got the estimate for 1700$ (mine was way worse than yours). Luckily the kid came up to me and took the blame. It was actually a good friend who was scared to tell me cause he knew I'd beat his ass.(fight)

Car is a little dirty but I used Scratch-X last night to remove the minor scrapes I had on my bumper and it worked amazing. I would recommend this to anyone who has minor scrapes done to their car.

BEFORE

Looked worse than whats in this picture because dirt got into the scratch

Only real sign that I got hit is those 2 black dots where he got into the paint a little bit. Other then that unless your an inch away you cant tell

very nice! I was gonna say not to bother with respraying the bumper, as soon as you do you know something else is going to happen to it, just the way it goes. My car got beat to hell after 5 years of college parking lots.....dents, dings, scratches, etc. Too many kids that know mommy and daddy will fix it if they break it so they don't take care driving/parking. Glad it worked out for you in the end!
