Wonky A/C: Wiring suspected

So the A/C in my Protege works, but usually only on fan settings one and four. On two and three, the air still blows but the light on the A/C button either flashes on and off or doesn't come on at all, and the air goes warm when the light is off. Any ideas where the problem might be or how to fix it?
