But this is one of the reasons why I think sexy sigs aren't worth it

We have some really cool ladies on the site. And I love having them around. Having a woman's point of view on things can be very informative and helpful at times. some of our Girls here are wayyyy coooler then most women I've met, but still, I'm sure they could do without the "you know what"

I was thinking about putting pics of my car in my sig, but I'm such a perfectionist that I didn't feel the pics could do my car justice- so I just left my list of mods instead. Never did it go through my head to through hot naked chicks in with my car or just have the chicks without the car... So I'm not sure how this idea comes to people... lol

I'm not gay I swear- it's just that when I come here my mind is like "cars cars cars turbos cars etc..." lol

Anyways, I normally use sigs, as someone said earlier, to locate a particular post from a familiar post-er or to check out mods and decide who to bother with questions.

If people put half-naked chicks in their sigs, SO BE IT!

This is a free country, with a strong-standing and often challenged 1st amendment, and yet it always seems to prevail. I agree it may not be APPROPRIATE at times and for that reason it is sensible to ASK people not to make such gratuitous displays of flesh in 800 X 600 sigs. However it is completely ludicrious (unless decided by the owners of this board) to ban or look down upon anyone who uses women in their sigs.

I enjoy half naked women and hell, i will throw myself under the bus and admit I EVEN like fullly naked women, so should someone choose to express their creativity (or lack thereof) by placing scantily clad beauties, japanimation, thier kids picture, their dogs picture, their wife (or wives pictures, cant forget the quakers) or pics of their souped up 93 civic, MORE POWER TO YOU!

I disagree with whoever said the thing about relative "badness", i.e. this isnt nearly as bad as others so we are ok...its not a matter of the degree of "wrong" involved, its the discussion if it is WRONG at all, which i dont believe it is.

Of course the other major point of this thread was people get heat from on-lookers while browsing this forum. I think pretty much everybody should just explain that "Hey look, this is a car forum where some dude insisted on posting these pics" and that scantily clad women on the internet does NOT automatically mean that it is porn.

After all, do you have to turn off the TV everytime a Victoria's Secret commercial comes on and your wife/daughter/grandmother/pope happens to be nearby? Like I said before, our society needs to grow up because now it works like this:

scantily clad female in magazine or on TV = advertisement

same thing on computer screen = porn

And if you are at work reading a magazine, watching TV or surfing the net and it is specifically against the rules, then you shouldn't be doing it no matter what the content is.

I think what some of us are trying to get at is that we would rather see this place above normal standards. A place with a little more class than everyone else. However, obviously the majority of people don't really care, so I guess we will stay below that level.

I agree... Normally, seeing people with pics of gils ALONG WITH their cars isn't that big of a deal...I can't think of anyone off hand except of course Togan's sig. It just doesn't make sense why their is a need to post pics of chicks you don't even know.

You do realize the MP3 came out before our MSP's right?? You're knocking him because he bought his car before the MSP was even THOUGHT OF...And to bring it to a "personal level" if you can even call it that since you know nothing about the guy's family, is just plain IMMATURE. Let me say this.

Back when I was trying to get Mazda Canada/USA to listen to me about the fact that our Speeds/MP3 Clunked due to the bushings, I refered them to this Forum on countless occasions. Keep in mind I fought with them for near 2 years straight.

Back then, there was less cursing, less flaming, no pics of chicks, and most threads were mature. I was able to show them that the people here that were complaining weren't just a bunch of chlidish whineing babies and teens crying about some little noise in their cars that daddy/mommy bought them. I was able to show them that the majority of the people here at the time were professional if not mature adults that had a legit problem that was being ignored

IF I had to go about getting another problel fixed again, I would not use this forum anymore. Matter of fact, when I'm in talks with Mazda Corporate over certain topics, I don't use many examples from this page at all anymore in fear it would be taken the wrong way, not taken seriously ( just another problem), or damage my case more.

It is about having a higher class site, about respecting the female members on board, and not giving the wrong impression. We have the hot girl thread ( best thread ever! ) why do we need sleezy sigs? We don't, it's just that some insist on it, and it's really that simple.

I agree completely. To me it is disrespectful to the females who share the board here with us.
Frankly, I don't see why there is a "hot chick" thread here. I have been burnt when my fiance asked me to see the site I was surfing once, and on the main page, in the recent posts was that very thread.
Needless to say, the $hit hit the fan.
You guys are going to freak when one of the ladies starts a "hot guy" post or whatever. It's going to happen.

I surf from work, before, after and at lunch. Not everyone is going to stop to ask me waht i am surfing. They will make assumptions as they walk by, and that's how BS starts.

There are only a handful of girls that actually post, but think about how many just surf the forums silently...My girlfriend is on here quite often, and rarely posts. I'm sure she doesn't like seeing all that crap when she's on the forums at home. Do you think she'd want to explain to her parents that she's not searching a porn website?
