Really, the stuff in magazine ads and newspapers is just as racy as what is posted in the sigs. Do people get upset when they see you reading the newspaper that has a department store ad with pics of women in bras? Because this is the internet, too many people have the impression that when racy pics are showing up on-screen that you are looking at porn. Our society needs to grow up.

Moral relativism never works.. "Well, everyone's doing way worse so why is this a problem'. With that logic nobody would bother bettering themselves and we'd all still be banging each other over the head with wooden clubs. I personally believe chicks in bras and panties don't belong in sigs. It's not a question of being offended or that it bothers me, but rather that it takes up space for no purpose.. You want to put a girl put her in your avatar, that's what it's there for.

I dont come to this site that much anymore. Understandably, I'm pretty much turned off about some of the behavior and such by immature members on here that can't "play nice" or "conform". bahahhahah I was just htinking this today. I don't think it's out of hand by any means nor do I dislike it, but today at work I was browsingthe forums and our sales director was like "OMG are you looking at porn?" and I actually had to show him so he'd beleive me.

I browsed through a BMW forum (m3forum.com) the other day and didn't see any half-naked girl sigs in any post that I viewed. I'm sure they have people who probably do that there, but I must have missed their posts.... it definitely isn't difficult to miss nake-girl sigs in THIS forum.... let's have a little bit more class here.

How come the site's biggest "culprit" hasn't chimed in yet on this subject??? I'm personally not a big fan of censorship of any kind. I guess, in an ideal world, we'd just rely on the collective intellegence level of our members to keep things 'civil' on all fronts. Obviously that's a lot to ask! That said, if it weren't for the option to disable signatures, I'd probably side with Newf (and the others) on this subject since I can definitely understand that side of things. However, with it being so easy to disable sigs, there really is no excuse not to go ahead and do that ahead of time when surfing in a "risky" environment.
To create an analogy of sorts... for those who own the MSP (or even those who simply read some reviews) A LOT of critics complained about the "busy nature" of the headunit. It would have been nice if they had realized ahead of time that the spectrum analyzer and other "busy" things could easily be disabled. L8R
