With how little activity this forum seems to have lets see if anyone can help me here

Ok so lately my shifter has been getting more dificult to shift smoothly (manual Tranny) Its become knochy and sloppy. it seems i have more of a thump between shifts as well and a somewhat rough idle. When turning over bumps i also get a knocking noise and feeling. Could these be related and what do you think it is. How common do motor mounts go bad on these cars and how to diagnose them.

I wont even get into all the wierd little noises the engine makes yet, but those are bothering me too.

Bushings might be going bad? Have you changed the trans oil?

I have not changed the gear oil yet. The car only has 60K miles, is it time to change the fluid already, same goes for the bushings do they wear out quickly?

I honestly dont even know if manual trans use bushings? I dont have a manual. But i would suggest changing the gear oil

I would check transmission mounts first. I talked to Mazda and they said the transmission had 7-8 quarts so it well probably be pretty pricey haha
