If you haven't heard yet what unfortunate incident happened to Taylor, see below

Glenn B's fb post from Sunday:

"Many of you were asking what happened to Taylor. Taylor’s dad gave me permission to tell everyone what happened.

Taylor was attacked while walking to his girlfriend’s house late last night. The attack was unprovoked and he was beaten into a state of unconsciousness and was found on the side of a road. He was rushed to hospital last night. He is suffering from head trauma. The breathing tube has ...been removed and he is resting comfortably. There is bleeding in his brain and for now, we wait for better news. He is in intensive care. If the bleeding stops on its own it will be better than the surgical option but it's in god’s hands from here on in. He is grumpy, nauseous and still thinks he is leaving for Miami soon.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers."

Update from Glenn B on fb 2 hours ago:

"I spoke to Mike, Taylor’s dad last night. Taylor is doing much much better. All the tests are good. No internal bleeding or damage. He said there is a good chance he will be release from the hospital by tomorrow. Taylor has complete memory loss. The police are investigating the incident. He was very lucky a truck driver found him unconscious on the side of the road when they did. That person most likely saved his life! Taylor, is great kid, never in trouble, always the first to help you out, he was raised very well by his parents. It’s sad when something like this happens to good people. Taylor is tough and strong willed, he will bounce back."

We thought it would be nice to send Get Well cards or banners from Taylor's Mazda racing fans ... soooo, if you are having a mazda meet or g2g in the near future, come up with a card or banner or pic of your group of mazdas and have everyone sign it and send it off to Taylor to let him know we are all thinking of him and wishing a speedy and full recovery. (get contact/mail info from Marlon when needed).

We are having a meet here in oHIo next weekend and are planning on doing something to that effect.

just a thought ...

UPDATE:

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (May 3, 2012) – Thank You Racing Community and Grand Am!

As many of you know, my son, 22 year old Taylor Hacquard, driver of the #30 I-Moto Mazda in the ST class of Grand Am, was assaulted on the night of April 21. The assault was unprovoked and there are no suspects and no clues for who or why this happened.

I want to express our family's appreciation for the level of support and best wishes we have received since the attack. We had always heard of how tight the racing community can be but we never experi- enced it first hand the way we have this week. Everyone at Grand Am racing has been supportive of Taylor's situation and it is humbling to us to learn how many friends we have in racing. Even people we don't know have sent Taylor their best wishes. To say we are overwhelmed would be an under- statement.

We also want to thank our good friend and I-Moto Team Principal

Glenn Bochino for organizing the decals that so many teams dis- played on their cars in tribute to Taylor last weekend at Homestead- Miami Speedway and throughout during this difficult time.

Taylor was walking home to his girlfriends late that night and was attacked and left unconscious on the side of a road. He spent the next few days in intensive care and has since been released and is home recovering.

We hope to return to racing soon, but the obvious priority is Taylor's health. What happened to him

could happen to anyone. It serves as a stark reminder to all as to how different the world is today as compared to the way it used to be. You can never be too careful.

Taylor will do his best to update everyone as to his condition on Facebook. In the meantime, from our family to yours, we say, thanks very much for all the support.

Mike Hacquard
