Wired FM Vs. Auxiliary Sound Quality (ipod connection)

I recently purchased a Harmon and Kardon Drive and Play I.

My question is that I know that AUX-in would be the best sound quality out there, but is the difference really that noticeable between the wired FM and auxiliary? A friend of mine says the difference isn't even that noticeable. Is it worth it to buy a Grom for around 80 dollars?

Thank you.

i dont think the sound quality will be too different. before i got my 3 my last car had direct ipod connection with control from the stereo and everything. just as a temporary move since i cant live without my ipod in my car, i bought a monster fm transmitter, and its wireless, and honestly i cant tell the difference in quality between the direct connection from my last car to this.

If you care about music at all, stay away from FM modulators, doesn't matter how good those are, you are NOT going to get close to the same quality as a direct connection. Yes it's very noticeable.
