Wiper upsizing

I wonder if you can replace the nozzles with 3-way shooters. Saw a vibe where both nozzles shot into 3 spots each. Is that stock or a mod?

Your best bet for the rear wiper is to stick with OEM blades. The reason being is that the blade is actually curved so it will wipe the top of the rear window better. Aftermarket ones are straight and miss the top of the window.
You are right. My new Trico blade is still missing the top after a few weeks. Mind you, I didn't use the rubber conditioner that it came with, but I think that is only required when you clean it after some extended use - does anyone know otherwise? Will probably return it and by OEM.

I bought a Trico one, and after a few weeks it wasn't wiping the top either.....I put it side by side with the OEM blade and noticed the difference (curved vs straight). The rubber conditioner won't help. That's why I'm sticking to OEM.

All Toyotas have 3-way shooters stock.

No rain-x wipers at Wal-Mart in Canada. .

They have them now, they're $12-13 CAD each.
Unfortunately, they didn't have a 21 for the driver side.

They also had the Lexor Silicone one's, but no 19 or 21.
I'm SOL. (boom07)

I had 20/22 setup on front with no problems. Had same experience with rain-x disintegrating the wiper blades to soon. Might try 15 on back next time.

quick question: how often do you people replace blades? I'm still using the ones the came with the car (in socal we don't use wipers all that much) and they seem to do the job just fine when i need it (scratch)

I'm in TX, car is june 2003 bought in jan 2004. Changed to 20/22 on front in feb or mar 2004. Just put new set all the way around last month. Probably go faster if car sits out in sun or xtreme cold tho.........

In florida your supposed to replace them every yr right before the rain season. However, if your whiper blades are not doing a 100 percent perfect job, you can clean them. Once they stop performing at satisfactory, after you try cleaning them, than they need to be replaced. So basically, only replace them as needed, no sense in throwing out blades that do their job.

I needed new one's, so I bought the Lexor ST Silicone blades at Wal Mart.
No 21, and 20's were sold out, so I went with 19 inch passenger side and 22 driver side, it fit with no problem and wipes perfectly.

The Silicione apparently doesn't wear out like rubber, so they last far longer, the package claims 100,000 miles.

I wanted the Rain-X wipers, but the 2 Wal-Mart's I went to were sold out.

I had been using the refills from Wal Mart and CT until now, but discovered Wal Mart no longer sold them, and the CT one's used little plastic end caps I would lose after each drive. Wal Mart's used metal clips which hung on much better IMO.

I'll see how these do and post a review. They were like $11 & $14 each.

Wal Mart also had another version of the Reflex wipers from CT ($15 each), but if either of these were made of silicone, I would have bought them.

100,000 miles my ass. That's 7 years at 15,000 miles a year. The only way I see that happening is if you live in the sahara desert.

Even if I'm a cheap bastard and hold out for as long as possible, the edge of the blade will wear out after a year and caus streeks. After a year and a half the blade will start to peel off. Maybe the silicone can prevent this but I doubt it will stay streek free for 6 years.
