I put my winter wheels and tires on today. Got 14" steelies and mastercraft glacier grip II's for about $400 all together. Miss the handling of the stock tires already though (just from the ride home) :( oh well. till spring.

*bump*
by the way the handling is s*** with these tires, the car feels like it's floating, much more body roll. anyone w/ experience is this normal with snow tires? this is the first time i've had them.

Yep...it's normal. I had 14-inch steelies on my Focus (stock 16-inchers) and the extra sidewall was waaaay flexy. Also, it's a softer tread compound so that will also make the handling a little squirmy.

Where'd you get them at? $400 is pretty reasonable.

I got them at the dealership I work at. ~$400 with my discount.
I'll just have to get used to the handling for the winter I guess.

Damn...too bad. For $400 I'd get some...guess I'll wait until next Fall. I paid $400 for my snows and steelies from TireRack, but they want $600 for the P5.

Yeah, snow tires don't handle that well, plus they wear much faster then our stock dunlops (which wear real fast, too). I use 14 in steel wheels with sympherit snow tires. They do great in the snow and I usually have them on from december-end of march. I got mine from discounttire.com for 425, including insurance in the tires. That was last years prices.
