hey here in Richmond Virginia it just started to get cold(about 20 degrees all day today). Well i noticed a huge difference in my shifting (second gear is a b**** to shift into), i just wanted to know if anyone else has this problem. i still have the stock gear oil in there hopefully can change it soon to something better and fix this problem

Oh yeah dude happens to me every morning when i'm going somewhere...the whole freaking car is so cold..it's even harder to move the shift knob from side to side sometimes...but it gets all much better when everything in the car warms up...

o thats good for me its always stiff as hell n i cant get it to shift from gear to gear but it can go from side to side, but it sounds like ur bushins r dried out or it might b to tight try to losin it some mayb that will help

My experience with my mp3 has been

cold + stock fluid = :(

throw in some Redline mt-90 trans fluid and that should help a noticeable amount. Mostly when its cold but also in regular temps.
even the Tech @ my dealership said for some reason, this transmission almost needs it just to survive (I had to get a majority of my transmission replaced @ 25k miles, and I don't know anyone that baby's their trans like I do). they had a buch of the protege's in with simlar issues.

It has just got cold here in texas and oh my gosh!!! This thing is crazy. This morning I did not have the time to let it sit for 15 min like usual and it was being a pain in the but. Sounded like it wanted to just give up, the suspenion was hard and everything was difficult. The shifting was a big pain. I am going to try and get my trans fluid replaced. thanks for that advice!!!
