Windshield protection

After having numerous chips all over my windshield, I finally took a noticeable hit today and now I'm balking at the cost of getting an entire windshield replaced. Seems like the best options at this point are either a bra or a deflector (clearbras are out of the question, already got 54k) though admittingly, either seems like a wardrobe disaster but if they really work, I'd rather look like a dork as opposed to dropping $600 for a full windshield replacement. Just looking for opinions.

I know how you feel. I'm the windshield killer in my family. I would say a bug deflector might work at high speed for pebbles, but not the ones that will crack your windshiled

Gt or sport? The gt is the expensivewindshield. Already replaced mine once

Adjust your insurance to cover glass. It shouldn't be much of an increase to you premium.

I have full glass on all of my cars, it breaks, scratches, cracks, it gets replaced for free, no questions asked.

Sadly, no insurance coverage here :(, anyone replaced theirs yet and gone aftermarket? Still not too keen on swallowing OEM prices.

Aftermarket as in what? You mean someplace other than the dealer?

AFAIK there's only going to be one windshield size with 2 options for the 3....and that's with or w/out rain sensor (gt or sport)

It was either my speed, or my last mz3 gt that I said "f it" and just got the regular windshield because my insurance wouldn't get me a new one and the price difference was like $300 or something. I still had momentary, low, and high speed wipes, but I couldn't use the sensor settings. I didn't mind because I've never been a fan of the auto wipers. They only seem to work the way I want them to when its a mid-day rain and you're going over 30mph

Not free, just prepaid.

OEM is Saint-Gobain Sekurit, I haven't found anyone (besides stealer) who could replace it with this glass

Insurance will cover it, just with a rise in my premiums of course. They don't have a specific windshield insurance.

I'm still not understanding the oem thing. I got mine changed at a window repair shop. I'm assuming you mean there's only one company that makes the mazda3 windshield
