Window Tint

get five percent!

its still as illegal with 20 percent

LOL that's true, but it's pretty noticeable when you have bright sunshine and still can't see the driver!

Having different windows have different amount of tint looks goofy/cheesy IMO. It looks better if it's consistent.

I agree, it doesn't look good with 2 different tint percentages goin on...

do you have a sunroof??? when I'm driving around and I just move the slider back on the sunroof it looks like I have 20%...then when i close it...black =]

28% - metallized/polarized - lifetime - colour, bubble and quality warranty

looks nice, does it have the reflector stuff?

Oh no, it just looks like that, I think you're thinking of that gradient tint, kinda like those silver 80's sunglasses. It's not like that at all. The tint just "reflects" 90% of the light coming in. As a result, those who look at your windows at an angle think it's not that dark (good if you local po-po is an ass), but look at it right on and you just see yourself. It's even darker in the night time, overcast, and really bright out.

i see. i got it done last saturday and i know its cold weather in my neck of the woods but theres still bubbling and i am really not satisfied with how dark it is.. its not suppose to get darker as it dries or anything is it?

Still bubbling? There shouldn't be or have been any.

No, does not get darker as it dries.... It's based on a percentage. Did you tell them what you wanted or did they just do default legal? Legal is not very dark at all really. And most places will only do darker than legal if it's a cash transaction and there's no receipt.

Guess I came in too late on this one. If it were me, and I was tinting the windows of a MIATA, I'd do 'em myself. No frames around the side windows (except for the "sail" windows), and only 2 of 'em to do- unless you have a 99+, in which case the back glass window is flat and probably really easy to do as well. But you already got it done, so it doesn't matter.
There should be no bubbling on the tint. It doesn't go away w/heat, from what I've seen. I'd go back and make 'em fix it.

My tint had bubbles for about a week, and then they all went away. The tint shop told me to expect bubbles for a week or two, and then they'd go away. And that's what happened.
I got mine put on in July though, so I was able to keep it parked in the sun for a long time, to help evaporate the water under the tint.
I also blocked off the window controls for 2 weeks, to make sure nobody accidentally rolled down one of the windows before the tint adhesive was completely dry.

Smart... I did the same thing. :)

Hello everyone... was wondering if anybody knew whether or not it is customary to "tip" the guy that tints your window? Or is everything already included in the agreed upon price before the job? If tinting is necessary, how much is considered sufficient? Thank you.

You don't tip tint guys.

If you think they did an awesome job and treated you well ask them for a stack of business cards.
