Ok one of my pet peeves is the film that builds up on your windshield and makes driving at night a b****.

I have been told not to use windex as ammonia based cleaners are bad for auto glass.

So I went and got myself some auto glass cleaner ant the store, the kind that sprays on and turns to foam. I was told it would NOT streak.

LIES!

Now I have to drive with my defroster on all the time as even in the day the streaks are super noticeable. WTF!?

Any recommendations for a glass cleaner that is ACTUALLY streak free?

i am not sure about the whole no ammonia thing. The way I understand it is that you shouldnt use ammonia based cleaners on your windows IF you have tints. Otherwise it really won't hurt anything.

With that said, i don't use any cleaners on my windows. I take a microfiber and get it damp and wipe with that. then I take a clean dry microfiber and follow up with that. I never have streaks and my windows seem pretty clean to me.

I was thinking bout using a cloth with water on it behind the cleaner i used now. Then drying with a towl

+1 Stoner's invisible glass.

Agreed, works the best, granted anything is liable to streak, I spray the Stoner's and then use a microfiber cloth to wipe it off .. Also, something I used to use a few years ago before it got expensive and hard to find was a cleaner called Wurth's. Worked AMAZING, German product, and now I can't find it!

Not to sound like an ad, but their (Stoner's) spray-on Tire Shine is great, too. Been using it for years. Doesn't fling and it lasts for a pretty good while (sans a rainstorm).

Invisible Glass and wadded-up newspaper. Follow that up with Rain-X. Ammonia is bad only for the tint.

Yeah I've only heard about the ammonia thingy with tinted windows... you should ask user Blue-sun... he's a detailer.

stoners all the way. do a quick spray and wipe off with microfiber cloth. if it streaks, gret a dry part of the cloth and buff it out. i havent gotten any streaks yet
