Hi all,

We have a couple of Mazda 2's here in Australia that we are setting up for track work/racing. We have just fitted a set of Wilwood 4 spot brakes to the front and are really happy with the results.

We aim to go testing again next week and have some more fun.

Here's a links to ome of our previous fun days when it was stock!!

Nice...looks like you guys were having fun out there! Were you guys running into fade issues with the stock brakes? Big power upgrades coming soon?

Hey cool I'm working on the same thing! You're missing the register ring in the hat. The one from 4-lug miata works. The back brakes can be done also via fiesta kit, redrill hat and Miata ring.

Thanks guys

Yes we were getting terrible fade with the stock brake. We did a couple of mods and tested along the way. We did the following -

Motul RBF600 fluid
Hawk HP Plus pads
Removed rear backing plate
Removed front fog light cover and lower inner guard cover

And now we have fitted the Wilwood set up.

At present it is a custom set up for our requirement however one of our US based suppliers is so impressed he is looking at doing a bolt up kit. More details soon!!

Here's a back to back comparison between our 2 cars. The green one is 100% stock and the black one has the mods listed. This was before our brake upgrade and we have also since added additional front camber and rear toe to get a better turn in.

Huge improvement! You guys are the first I've heard to get brake fade with the stock calipers...though an easy bolt-on brake upgrade would be nice to have available. I'm sure your supplier would sell more than a few of them if they put a kit together.

Since you added the front camber...how do you feel about the RB front bar? I was thinking it might be overkill once the springs and dampers were upgraded which is why I decided on the corksport kit.

Would you guys mind sharing more detailed information on the process of fitting this kit to a Mazda 2?

Thanks
