Will there be an '08 MS3?

I started this thread because in other threads it's talked about but on-topic discussion usually squashes the discourse.

In the other threads there are some people that seem very confident that an '08 will be here, others aren't so sure or have heard nothing from Mazda to that affect. I was in a dealership last weekend and the dealer told me, with absolute certainty, there will be no more MS3.

I am in the market for a MS3, but I sure would like to have an '08 with some of the bugs worked out... I was hoping this thread could promote some discussion on why some people are certain an '08 will be here and what they base that on. And if you are in the camp that is certain there won't be an '08, what do you base that on.

Thanks!
Kevin

well working for a dealer (Nucar Mazda who sponsors this forum) I can certainly tell you that we are taking (and have taken 2) orders for 08 models.

although AFAIK there will be no changes... the only bugs Im sure they are to work out is making sure all the bolts get tightened :p

so yes, they are taking orders and producing an 08 MS3. Generally speaking Mazdaspeed models run in 2 year stints... 2 halfyear MSP runs, 2 year run on MSMiata, 2 yr run on MS6, and as of this point 2 years of the MS3. I would expect the MS3 only runs 2 years as well.

I also work at a Mazda dealer, and one way or another I have nothing concrete, but there is no mention of an 08 MS3 around here

I don't feel going to search for my old post, but I put transcript of an E-mail from Mazda that said the MS3 will be out this summer for sure. Your dealer is just trying to make you jump the gun. I wouldn't even buy the MS3 from him anymore; don't trust him. Too many horror stories about crooked dealers going around.

Just my two cents...

This is the information I just got from Mazda. Take it with a grain of salt, since I'm not sure how much info these customer reps actually have. But it does sound like they plan on making them.

"Thanks for contacting Mazda.

We appreciate your interest in the MAZDASPEED3. Mazda does plan to release a 2008 MAZDASPEED3. Mazda will release information such as styling, specifications, feature & options, closer to the launch date. At this time we do not have a tentative release date. Typically the new models arrive in the fall. Please feel free to check our web site,www.mazdausa.com, periodically for updates

Again, thank you for contacting Mazda."

I'll believe it when I see it. Not really doubting it will release again in 2008 but you never know.

The only reason they wouldnt do a second year run is if the models didnt sell... I see no business reason why they wouldnt do a second year run of the MS3 specially when the MS6 wont be around

I'm waiting for an 08 crystal white pearl ms3. Once it comes out, i'll buy it instantly and will give my silver one to my wife.

The 2008 MS3 is coming out this summer, allegedly with two new color options.

good call. the white one looks sweet

Would this still be under the 5000 max? Or would this be a new production "line" that would be another 5000 cars?

5000 isn't a max it was just how many were shipped or are planned to be shipped for the 2007 model. It really depends on how popular the 2007 model was. If they didn't sell off as well as expected it will be less next year but if there is more demand then they will get more.
