will the normal 3 front shocks fit on the speed 3 version?

hey guys,

i need to change my front struts on my 07' speed 3. i ordered them on rockauto but they sent me the mazda 3 version (monroe 72263 and 72264) and i confirmed it with the auto shop. so instead of sending them back and not having another set (cause finally they don't have in stock the speed strut) i wanted to check if i can install them anyway...i know the difference between both suspension are the spring rate, but is it the same thing for the struts??

Hey are different internally from what I gathered, chances are if you use them they will not last very long before they start to leak and have to replace them again. just my 2 cents.

alright. thanks for the response. just got some used front set, hope they last longer...

They will fit. The 3 GT damper is the same part number as the Speed, that's why they suck so bad on our lowered, stiffer sprung, heavier cars.

These stockers are among the shittiest sporting car dampers ever. Anything is better than them.
