will 205/55R16 fit on the 07 speed3?

How will this effect the speedo or whatever else???

Thanks

No, Speed3 has 18" wheels w/P215/45ZR18 tires. Those are 16" tires.

bradicus stop being a smart a$s im looking for winters and the car doesnt come with Z rated tires.

Apocalypso - it says its a -2.9% difference - will this affect anything other then the speedo or is it a bad idea for any other reason???

Perfect. Thanks

The point that Bradicus was trying to make is that 16" wheels will not clear the calipers on the speed 3. So no, 16" wheels or tires wont work.

well there are Several people on this board with 16" winter wheels driving around so next time do your homework

wow, youre forum name is fitting.

All I was trying to do is help you because last I was told (by people who own a speed 3, and from this forum no less) that 16" wheels would not fit. I didnt realize that people had test fitted 16" to fit.

sorry for trying to help....

Thanks for being such a dick about it! :)

Assman - you didnt say anything about winter or 16" wheels.

Anyhow - to help you out:

205/55R16 tires come in around 24.8-25" in diameter
215/45R18 tires come in around 25.6-25.7" in diameter

these sizes vary depending on tire brand and type

Tirerack.com actually recomends either 215/55R16 or 205/60R16 tires

you're welcome

oh, and the Z doesn't necessarily mean Z-rated as that is indicated in the service description such as on the MS3: 93Y.

These will fit. I have them on my MS3 now worn on 16" steelies. The fit is tight, but there is adequate clearance and I have had no problems with snow or ice becoming stuck during the snow that we have had so far (1 major storm with 3 feet of snow).

Most people, retailers included, said that this could not be done because of the offset of the rims that was required. However, test fitting showed that it was indeed possible and if you now check out Tire Rack you will find numerous wheel options that include this tire size.

The size is 2.9 off, but other than a small speedometer error there shouldn't be any problems.

Bradicus has provided the rest of the pertinent info.

Ya, 205/60/16s will make your speedo off by 0.3% (on the low side). So if you drive 3000 miles on them in the winter, your mileage will actually only go up 2991. What offset do you need to fit this?
