Will 18x8.5" +35 offset fit speed 3?

Now, before I get barked at and told to search...I am asking this now because that guy recently went with a 18x9" wheel with +30 offset and it fit. I am lookin at a set of Axis Super Hiro's and they are 18x8.5" with +35 offset. With +5 more offset and .5" less wheel than the guy with the 18x9's, it should be able to fit, correct? Plus it would put it pretty flush with the fender too. Would 235/40/18 fit with these or would I HAVE to go with a stretched 225/40/18 tire? I am dropped on H&R Springs. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If someone with 18x9" +30 fit their wheels, then 18x8.5" +35 will definitely fit. However, since you are lowered you will likely need to roll your fenders. I'm willing to bet whoever fit 18x9" +30 definitely rolled their fenders. I don't think tire width matters as much as the side wall size.

ok thats what I was thinking. Forgot to add that fenders WILL be rolled, already planned that no matter which wheels I go with. I think the +35 offset will allow them to be nice and flush and aggressive looking with the fender. Did you not see the thread on the 18x9" wide wheels that worked??

I didn't see the thread, but I'm happy. This Mazdaspeed3 just begs for beefy tires. Some may disagree but from an appearance stand point, I think it will look badass.

You may have to worry about the insides rubbing. Seems that some people have that problem, and some don't.

thanks for the the input. any addtional information is greatly appreciated by you guys, I really would like to know if I can run this setup without tearing s*** up.

I didn't word what I mean correctly. Not looking for a flush look, lookin for the aggressive fitment and stance like they are doing on Evo's and Sti's. LOVE that look.

This is the wheel I am looking at btw. THanks for the input, keep it coming. I am just worrying about rubbing. Like I said 235 tires will be used unless i have to do a stretched 225 and will be rolling the fenders.

the guy your talking about rolled his fenders. hes also lowered on coils and not springs...so im sure he can run a bit more camber on his set up which allows them to fit a little better.

Im pretty sure they'll fit really nice for that agressive look. Go for it! I was thinking of doing 18x8.5 +35 on my MS3 with the Gravity Gullflames.

Its not going to be too much like the 18x9's and I think they're the perfect size.

im hoping and praying it works man, ive been asking quite a few different people tryin to gather enough information. I don't see why they won't work though honestly?? Especially if that guy can fit 18x9 and +30 offset with 245 and no rub issues.

where did you find those wheels? They expensive??

so I pm'ed Madvillian (thanks for the help again man) and he seems to think I can make them work with a 235/35/18 tire with fenders rolled all the way. He even said I may even be able to do 245/35/18 tires, which would be AWESOME. Gonna keep searching and find out as much feedback as I can before I make my purchase. This would be GREAT to go with on a cosmic blue speed. :)

Ok update...I found another wheel they carry, in the exact same color combo and width (18x8.5), BUT, they have them in an option for +40 Offset and +45 offset. Which offset do you guys recommend and whats the biggest tire I can run? I would like a 245/40/18, but can settle with 235/40/18 if I have to. Any additional help is greatly appreciated!!

First go here: http://www.bigcustomwheels.com/rt_specs.jsp

Second, input the settings on any wheel/tire combo you're thinking about.

Third, go to your car and start measuring. Be sure to measure with the suspension compressed as well, don't want the tire to contact anything the first time you hit a bump.

nice i think your plan will look good im excited to see it! by the way you should take pics of the fender rolling process cause i have never seen it or noticed what is done! i wanna do something like this myself so im slowy researching and reading up on it.

You should definitely be fine with a 235/40/18; and could probably run the 245s.

I'm running 18x8 w/50 offset w/235/40/18... No issues...

Yep after tons of searching, 18x8.5" with +40 offset and 245/40/18 will be my setup. Should be a nice beefy setup. Here is a teaser of how the wheels will look :). Im going with black calipers, these wheels and the muteki neo-chrome lugs and Nexen N3000's for tires (had these on my eclipse, absolutely loved these tires). Should be a nice little setup.

Those wheels, but in this color scheme. I'll be going with optional matched center cap and 10mm pin stripe.

^^^will that set up rub or require some fender rolling? if not i may do the same set up, just not the wheels and tires!
