showed dad the youtube of 'the adventures of wild child' (that MS3 slot car commercial that everyone already knows about)... he laughed, and almost blew out some coffee when it blows by the porsche and the doors fly off....
dad is gearing up for his street rod project... and i think i found a blown up 13b and a 5 speed on the cheap to start mocking up the drivetrain for the sprite, the transmission is in good shape, so at least i have that. ......we have been practicing our welding with the new mig from hobart, and dad is about to buy a plasma cutter, and (please, oh please) a tubing bender...
here are a few images of the rotary candidate (before i took it apart)... '67 sprite... to the month same age as i am... belonged to my father in law (that's mrs. squidmo in the photos)... no real rust on the car, it had some in the floorboard, but it was just minor surface rust... it was kept in a garage it's entire life... gonna look cool with a set of minilites and a street ported 13b!!
i have all of the interior pieces for it, and most of the body work has been done.. plan to strengthen the body a bit... add a roll bar and some other work to stiffen it up a bit.
