Wide Band 02 Sensor Kit

For those of you using one, can any of you recommend a particular brand, make, model? I want to purchase one when I pick up my turbo kit (very soon).

If you have any links to web sites that would also be great.

(I tried to do a search in this forum, but didn't find what I was looking for)

Thanks in advance.

We need to talk about what you can get me one for! Hit me up...I'm serious! Once I finish paying Ben for the J&S

speaking of O2 sensors, spoolin didn't you say that you had something to cure the problem with an aftermarket header? Because the second O2 sensor will suposidly spaz out if you don't have that cat, i thought i remember you mentioning that you might be getting somethingt that will cure the problem.

I accually got rid of my 1st cat, and there were not ill effects. Just the CEL. That is all. I think that is what Terry is reffering to.

ok...2nd dumb question.... from the website that terrry has pointed out.... what exactly do i need (the bare minimum)

FJO is a good one to buy. Thats what my friend has that we use ll the time. It doesnt read below 10.0.0
btw they most all use a 92-95 Civic VX o2 sensor.
They have a make your own kit thats cheaper than the others

why not just a a/f and egt gauge?
complacated ,expencive things that i dont fully understand scare me

That's why I study to understand.;) Think of a Widband O2 sensor as a Super A/F meter.

because a Wideband and an A/F gauge are like night and day. A wideband is about as exact as you can get. If you were to get an a/f gauge i would go with the greddy one. heard it is almost as accurate. uses it own o2 sensor

Yes the Greddy unit is a great alternative.
As for the wideband that will give you an accurate picture of whats going on with your a/f ratio. Its labratory accurate and will give a/f ratios on the fly at full and partial throttle ect.
An egt just gives an accurate indication of where your a/f is at but is nearly impossible to read at patial throttle...so is the Greddy a/f wideband meter.
why not just a a/f and egt gauge?
This is a good combo and but a wideband is 100% dead on... no guess work

Here is what you will need
[part# CWC0002]Wideband Oxygen Sensor
[RED part# DWB0001] AFR Display
Thats the bare minimum

Nothing will freak out just a check engine light will appear and we sell the o2 cheater that tricks the ecu in thinking there is a cat in the system

Thanks

Here is my response from FJO regarding my inquiry on the following:

I asked:
Hello,

I see that you have the PDA software for your Wideband O2 Sensor as an interface. I was wondering, if I could just get the software for the PDA, and not the whole datalogging kit. I am an avid user of Nology PDA Dyno, and this be a great addition! I will be purchasing the Wideband O2 soon.

Regards,
Patrick Ware

Hi Patrick,

The connectivity kit consists of all the optional cables (tach, aux, serial, adapter for PDA) as well as the software for the PC and PDA. The software is not available separately because the cables are required if you wish to data log from the FJO. If you already have a device which data logs, you may want to see if it can handle the analog 0-5V output from our controller - in which case you would not need to purchase our data logging kit. The calibration data is in the install manual which you can download from our web site for review.

Hope this helps

I just want to use the PDA as my display, and logger? Not exactly sure I understand what they are talking about yet?

yes but in order to interface the pda with there wideband I would imagine you would need there conectivity kit?

That's kinda what I'm getting from that too..:(

Just did some research on the Techedge website, and I am now considering purchasing the TE-WB DIY kits, since I would get to use some of that ITT Tech s*** I learned, and save a lot of money in the process.

They also have PDA Datalogging software available too!(thumb)
