Why is the clutch so stiff?

Its not stiff AT ALL.. its like a fkn TC clutch and I hate it. I wish it was stiffer, honestly.. a lot stiffer, at least 50% stiffer.

What the other guy said is right.. feels like butter.

it's bouncy i guess but it's not hard to floor at all ...

then again, i haven't driven that many standard cars. and right now, i only have a 50/50 chance of shifting smoothly :S

Evo 9 clutch was nice and stiff. Had a really good feel to it, but it wasn't very grabby (you have to rev to 2k to pretty much move at all), and the catch point was super super high on the clutch ride, like within 1 inch of depression. If I could have MS3 clutch catch point and grab w/ evo 9 stiffness I would be in heaven.

I actually enjoy the speed 3 clutch it not to stiff but not to soft it more in the middle, it very pleasing to drive in traffic but at the same time you dont feel like the clutch is going to break down when your driving the car hard.

To me the MS3 is about middle of the road in terms of difficulty/pressure. Regular BMW clutches are way softer, but their M cars are much heavier. I think it's a bit heavier than my A3 was, and took some getting used to, but I've quickly adapted and find it pretty easy to make smooth shifts. I haven't been stuck in stop and go traffic with it for an hour, but after a hard workout where my legs are exhausted, I don't find it particularly difficult to drive. Different strokes I guess :)

Wow, you should drive my eclipse. I have an ACT Extreme with a 6-puck disc in it... my left leg is literally larger looking than my right leg.... just from driving that car. I can't stand cars with feather light clutch pedals... you can't feel what's going on. I actually am looking forward to upgrading the clutch in my MS3 to something with more pedal effort.
