Whos running emco gears here ?

How strong are they ? Especially 3rd gear ?

Anyone that runs them with 350+ whp, possibly drag racing ?


Hows driving on the street with them ?


I found this company Tindol Motorsports that does trannys for Mazda Proteges with EMCO gears and Eckart differential in them, but they're for 2.0 liter engine,
since I have a 96 Ford Probe GT-T, huge project, turbocharged and will be looking over 500whp,
now Im wondering if this 2.0 liter tranny will bolt on my car, anyone ?

hmm..i've heard of tindol motorsports, I believe they used to race proteges' in the scca touring car series. If this is in fact true than it should bolt right up. If you have a link to their website or any other information be sure to post it. I'm also in need of better gearing for the drag strip.

Ratios are 3.3,1.8,1.3,1.1,.9 Axle ratio is 4.33.

There will be no warranty on any racing stuff.


Price is around $3000 or so


Ratios are pretty much same as 2.5liter Probe/MX6 trannys
