you got that right. That' the Toyota Corolla Trueno in Japan, also known as Corolla GT-S here in the US. It's the last REAR WHEEL DRIVE Corollas ever made. It's one of the all-time favorite drifting cars in Japan, a classic you can almost say!
I'm going to this Hyper-Fest at Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia on Saturday. I'm expecting to see some Hachirokus doing some beautiful drifts in the drifting competition that'll be held there, along with 240SXs/Silvias, and RX-7s!

I just read about the drifting trend catching on(slowly) here in the US.
Initial D is a really awsome series. I've seen a bunch of stuff on www.iloveracing.com from the series too. I'm really wanting the Mini Z racer that they used to have on their, it was sweet. This site has it, too bad it's $200

yes 3rd stage is the feature film, basically concluding the story of the main character Takumi and his AE86 Trueno (aka Corolla GT-S)

oh yeah, at the Hyper-Fest event I went to on Saturday (it was held at Summit Point raceway in WV), they held a drifting competition on the track. All I can say is, Americans still have quite a bit catching up to do in developing drifting drivers
however, there were moments where some great drifts were executed by the competitors, and the crowd went nuts!!

yeah the storyline in Initial D sucks ass. Like Takumi's girlfriend, if you haven't picked up on the hints throughout the series, the 'Daddy' character with the Mercedes that drives her to places, is not actually her father, but someone that gives her allowance for being his, um, 'escort', if you know what I mean

Initial D 0wns. I had First Stage, Second Stage, Third Stage and Extra Stage. Third and Extra are both movies. Extra, other than the part where Sayuki and,uh, whatever her name is (the sil80 girls) beat the Evo4, it was all one long mushy love story. Third was OK, the whole thing about Takumi VS the MR2 guY (forgot his name) was kinda stupid...(spoiler)

by jumping over the hairpin, but, still entertaining. I liked how takumi got his revenge on the evo3, but, well, i don't think his AE86 in real life could catch up, but, whatever. Agian, still entertaining. Takumi's overly humble as usual and it pisses the hell outta me.
The comics go on further to actualy talk about Project D, that whole thing where Ryosuke asked Takumi to join his racing team and beat everyone in Japan. I never read it though, damn. Sounds interesting.

I actually liked the story too The cheesiness of Emperor coming over and stuff was retarded, but I liked that whole thing with Takumi and Natsuki 
I too, was sorta disgusted by the fact that Natsuki was going out with that old man. But I have a female Japanese friend who moved here last year, and when I told her about that whole Natsuki and the benz guy thing, she said it's not anything surprising because she actually knew a few friends who do that for a living. Apparently, although it is taboo, it appears quite common.
And an interesting read from the Mainichi newspaper about promiscuity in teenage girls in Japan!

Ok, I'm lost here. What in the hell is Initial D and DBZ??? I'm confused. Is it some kind of TV show or something? (don't watch much myself) Sorry to interrupt, but I keep seeing these things and have no idea what it is about.
Initial D and Dragonball Z (DBZ) are both Japanese animations. Initial D is an anime about drift racing, and DBZ is a LONG ASS epic anime that originally started way back in the mid-80s that just ended couple years ago.
both are very fun to watch in terms of entertainment value. Just don't read too much into the storyline, it is just anime after all...
do a search on Google if you want to find out more about these 2 anime series, there are tons of sites dedicated to just these 2 series...
