what is everyone using to up the boost?
Mine went up just with all the mods I added. I was boosting a lousy 5psi stock.

With adding the MAM FMIC kit, the SRI, the Greddy-RS BOV, the PG intake manifold, the Thunder exhaust manifold, a 3" custom turbo-back exhaust (save for the 2.5" Corksport s-pipe) with one hi-flow cat (for emissions reasons), NGK ZFR7F-11 spark plugs, ATP wastegate actuator, relocated MAF .. is that it? .. all those bumped me up to where I am now. No boost controller here.

I'm actually pretty sure that the boost would hold steady at 10psi if I had the nerve to keep the pedal down .. but I always back off since I'm not tuned yet and let it drop to around 8.5psi.
 
I'm using a Perrin MBC that I won off a raffle about this time last year. It's crude and without it I would be around 7-7.5 psi (very similar mods to Rush). I plan on getting an AEM Truboost one of these days when I swap out all my gauges with AEM ones.
 
i ran 9psi for a bit then i got real boost happy and kicked up to 14-15psi with the apexi avc-r ebc, i had the AFC v2 running the supermap, injen cai, corksport fmic with custom tubing, screwed up exhaust, turboxs rfl-h bov, then zoom-zoom boom, so be carefull, i learned the hard way, my car broke on the 19 of June and i still don't have it running but very soon though she'll be forged and ready for big numbers

now back to the subject, i have the Thunder Racing Mani., FMIC, unichip(untuned), Apexi 2.5 J-pipe going to a 3'' cut-out, Relocated MAF, and a GReddy type-s EBC set at 9psi (low) and 12psi (high) on the car.

but i have a set of 440's, a 255lph Walbro fuel pump, a Meth kit, a JoeP fuel cut defender and im looking to buy an Intake Mani. and a 3'' turbo back.

my car is a friggin monster on 12psi and some race fuel.
 
How did you like the truboost? im planning to get that once i get the SS AFC. so far i only have injen cai, customMSP SMIC and vibrant 3" turbo back

lol i was at 27psi when my wastegate actuator got stuck.... now that.. was exciting :X

for the .5 seconds I had the pedal down... boy i was lucky

I hope you don't mind the thread jack but I was just thinking of hitting the same #'s next spring. I was going to do a CAI, upgrade SMIC, hard pipes,
and upgrade BPV, and a MPI or SS AFC. was thinking of doing the spring trick also ( cheap and I'm only looking at +3psi I'm at 5-6psi right now)
I hope our goal is abtainable with these little of mods!

lol yeah you wish, I have had that dream myself. The highest I've gone is 17psi on the stock turbo and 13ish in the t3, the bigger turbo hits a lot harder even at the lower boost.

27 that's scary.
 
dude im telling you, your unloading in third, lengthen the injector pulse another millisecond and you'll run nines...... :) couldnt help the movie quote
 
I have made some po boy mods to run 10psi all day long and have been running this setup for a year now. Fpr made from a tetra valve from a fish tank and a 4lb carb spring.....oh yeah do have a boost guage to. plan on making my own hard pipes shortly then going up to 12psi.
 
i run 13-13.5psi spikes to 15 on just a cai - stock j pipe high flow cat custom 3inch exhaust for about year now no ems just got tierd 10 psi next year im hope get a fmic and gt28 run 13psi hope clutch doesn't slip. i also have 86000km on it so fully broken in so as long as have lots fuel i don't think she blow

yeah i plan on 8 psi low, and 9 psi high. But rush you said your psi went up about 2-2.5 psi just from adding your mods? ive never heard of that! well once my turbo kit goes in which is base msp + custom fmic w/bov and maf moved, j-pipe back exhaust, cai, s.s afc on base supermap. I plan on adding the pg intake mani, so maybe my boost guage will say im at 7ish psi! But i have a boost sciences acuboost manual boost controller that once my engine is tuned i may install and go for 9-10 psi...so awesome info here, and bump for more( sorry about the kinda/threadjack)

Quite normal, actually. Anytime you free up the flow of intake air and/or exhaust flow, the turbo will spin more freely and boost more readily. Hardpipes, intercooler upgrade, exhaust mods...all these can contribute to raised boost levels.
