i wanna run a AFC V2 and around 9..

2- who here runs 9 psi without any EMS but with all suporting mods like above..

3- is it dangerous?

:EDIT:

4- is there a way to get a ATP WGA and staying at the same boost?

I ran 9 PSI all last summer with just supporting mods (GHL turbo-back, Perrin FMIC, etc.) and it was fine. I won't be untuned too much longer but I feel as long as you're smart about it, you can run 9 PSI safely.

With the ATP I was spiking 8 and holding about 7-7.5 psi with all my mods. I'm currently running 10 psi and no problems so far. SS AFC tuned to be around 11.5:1 in boost. I like to be safe...

In all seriously though, I don't see why 9 psi is the magic number. 505Zoom here is making over 270 whp on the stock block (other things going on there). I personally think that up to about 12 psi, as long as you have the fuel supply you should be fine. Things like the J&S Safeguard and the SS AFC w/ timing control are helpful in being as cautious as possible but not entirely needed.

I've been running about 8.5psi, spiking to 10psi, when I really jump on the car. I have plenty of supporting mods, but no EMS just yet.

However, I do get occassional CELs when the MAF gets over-zapped. But that's about the only problem I've run into, and it happens very rarely. Not to mention that I don't really floor it that often, simply out of caution until the car's tuned.

9 PSi here, 10 when really cold

pulls like a champ, mods include

ATP WasteGate
Injen SRI
Perrin FMIC
CorkSport S Pipe
Denso IK 22
HKS BOV
Forge BPV
CorkSport 2.4' Exhaust

Im ran 9 psi

Denso IK 22 = 1 step colder right?

My MSP was very strange. The first thing I did was install a boost gauge and it was boosting 9psi stock. Never had a single problem with it.

I am no longer @ 9 psi though. Im @ a very respectable 7 psi.

I wouldn't say 9 psi is the magic number, its where he should put it for his current mods.

Gah! At least I'm not the only one! Very strange considering we both have very similar setups (MAM FMIC w/ relocated MAFs)...

I ran 9psi before I went back to stock with the following mods:

Injen CAI, iON FMIC, Vibrant exhaust, SplitSecond AFC, 2psi-ish spring mod. 185whp without the spring mod, which should have put me right around 200whp. Could have run this without the AFC, but I hate how rich it ran stock and it caused big time bogging with the FMIC at stock boost levels.

i agree michele, you're playin in dangerous territory.

that said, i run an electronically controlled 9-10psi w/a lot of timing advance tuned on the unichip.
mods are in sig.

for me and my car, i wouldn't go over 8 without ems. but to each their own. I would at least just get the AFC (they're so cheap) and then go for 10psi.

9psi w/ just a base map in my AFC. I get a fair amount of ignition retard depending on what the stock ECU feels like doing. Sometimes its fine with it, sometimes at part throttle it just does not enjoy it.

9psi is nothing to worry about though. Just don't get greedy with the boost.
