i would like 2 know who in here has the fastest all motor p5. ie. headers,intake,wires,cams,etc...no NOS or Turbo im not interested on that just basic s***. can a p5 hit mid 15's with most of the bolt ons?
 
Stripping some of the interior and seats except your own and the usual tire and jack yeah it's totally possible
 
gimme 2 months and i will be. cams are getting ground as i write this (well not really - it's 8pm here at the moment) and decent headwork has been booked....but take note that i dont have exhaust mods...i still want low end power at the moment because turbo is on the cards in the near future

well i can let you know what i run on this monday. sat im going to time my car out @ california speedway. my engine mods are: headers/axle back ext/wires/cai so i will keep you all posted.
 
My P5 is putting out 116HP at the wheels. I doubt it would hit low 16s without first going on a diet.

Are the cam profiles tuned for N/A or F/I? Just wondering how the drivability will be until you get a turbo installed.
 
dimitrios, the cams are a trade off...more inclined on the n/a side of things as cams, although they have a big effect, dont have such a big effect on turbo'd cars as they do with n/a cars, so that's the reason they are slightly more n/a inclinded.

drivability should be fine, with a slight lope at idle

I think its easy to get those numbers:
If I were to go N/A, i would get:

CAI Intake
HKS Exhaust
Header
Remove 2nd cat
JSPEC Cams
High Compression Pistons
Perfworks Piggy Back to control ignition and fuel timing

Better to get rid of that torque if not using LSD and look for more HP.

I have 2 engines...and N/A powerful setup is still on my mind.
 
i think

i seriously think i may be the fastest n/a p5. but i have not timed my car since i did a lot of mods. right now my current mods are Japanese spec intake and exhaust cams, warm air intake, full exhaust including a racing mazda header with 2 1/4 piping after the header, 10.7/1 compression pistons, short throw shifter, under drive main pulley, a slightly shaved head to raise the compression even more (not sure what its at now) and some quite significant weight reduction

Any fuel or timing mods?
You should take it to the dyno at least.
Will be interesting to see how all those mods behave on this engine.

What issues you had to put the racingmazda header?
 
the header wasn't hard at all to put on, i don't have the egr hooked up right now, just haven't gotten around to hooking it up, but it shouldn't be that hard, you have to make a second 02 bung and you will most likely throw a CEL without doing a mod to the o2 wiring, and it doesn't mate right to the stock exhaust so you can get that done at any reputable muffler shop. i really want to do a fuel computer and possibly some bigger injectors before i go get it dynoed
 
i think someone on the forums beat a porsche boxster in his naturally aspirated p5. i think his name was akhilleus or something. he's also got an auto, so check him out. he's oober fast.
 
If you N/A guys are interested please let me know if you would like a NEW intake manifold and TB we are working on. Thanks in advance:D
 
yes i am definetly interested in both, as always i would like to know gains first, and if the price is decent then i will go for it
