Mazda3 5 door
I'm trying to get an idea of what a 1in-1.5 in drop looks like on a 5-door 3.
If you've done this, post up some pics!

Here is a few of mine. It is a sedan, but you can see wheel gap difference. I have pics of the wheel gap before and after I put on the Eibach Pro-kit

Nice.
Have you had any problems clearing road obstacles (ramps, speedbumps, pot holes, etc)?

Also, would you suggest also getting the camber kit?

Lowered mine with the eibach pro-lowering kit. sucks here 'cause in new orleans the roads suck ass. other than that, i don't have a problem other than climbing up ramps

I actually have the camber kit on there. I would suggest it, just for the sake of your tires. Also some places would not do an alignment on the rear without them being on there.

I have no problems with clearance, so far, and the ride is not bad at all either. Only thing I suggest to watch is when you get done with the springs and take it to a place to get an alignment done, make sure they don't have a steep incline on the rack. When I called Dobbs to see if they could do mine, they said they cannot do lowered cars, because of their racks, and to watch where I take it to make sure I didn't get any damage to the body.

I would deffinately recommend getting the pro-kit.

Bean,
I love those wheels on your color car, looks really good.

So, where did you get your alignment kit?
Is it for the front and rear wheels? I've only been able to find rear kits.
How much did it wind up costing?

Hey nomz3 you from new orleans I live across the lake on the northshore i have a silver 3i lowered withn skunk2 springs. we need to get together one day man there aint to many modified 3's aroud here Id like to see your car

its nice 2 know there are some modded 3's down here in louisiana. i have custom exhaust same as you except i put a aftermarket muffler, and 2.5 inch pipe all the way. i also have a k&n typhoon intake. What is the buddy club condenser and what does it do. By the way my girlfriend recently bought me a obx-r racing header, but i don't have the money right now to get it installed. I have installed most of the things on my car myself except for my springs and I afraid to try to inastall the header because i think the flex pipe might need modification. I'll pm you my cell number and we can meet one day. And if you want to we'll race I never raced another 3 before.

Eibach prokit, Racingbrake rotors and thebeansoilder's rx8 wheels! I love'em! feels like a new car.

damn .. I want some RX-8 wheels!!!

JRH1,
I got my chamber kit from tirerack.com, that'd be your best bet. They are only for the back. I tried to get it from the same place that I got my springs, they said they had them in stock but were truely backordered. Tirerack actually tells you if they are in stock and where they will ship from. all in all I think it cost me a bit over $300 don't remember exactly.

I lowered mine with the mazda speed kit, comes with the camber links, Doesnt take it quite as far as the eibach but I think the right stays that much better with this product

I installed these for a buddy of mine. Eibach Pro's.
Wasn't hard at all. Easier than my Protege5.

Everyone's 3 looks great, I have to say.
I'm totally sold on lowering, (which is good since a buddy of mine bought me the springs and I'm kind of obligated to go through with it now).
My only worry is the really crap road surfaces here in Philly. But I just keep telling myself that the 3 rides pretty high as it is and an inch won't do TOO much towards risking pothole damage...

one good thing about it .. with it lowered it handles much better. Just get used to swerving alot .. that is what I do. STL roads just have alot of car parts in the middle of them.
