I recently purchased the dual gauge pod pillar for my MS3 from protegegarage and I was wondering who has done an install? If so, any pics and how were the results?
the airbag is a deal killer. I don't want my family photos post accident to include my wife explaining why Mr. Swampass reads 15 PSI all the time. A gauge lodged in my eye socket will make finding eyeglasses that fit a difficult proposition.
The airbag is fine. The only fear is that you don't want to put in screws on the bottom as they will puncture the bag. Other than that the bag deploys down and the A-Pillar pops out to the right about 2 inches but does not come off.
I trimmed mine and also heated it in places to ensure it fit the pillar well. I then drilled the pod first and used those drill holes to drill the pillar. I didn't even take the pillar off. Because I didn't put screws in the bottom, I let the rubber weather seal hold it down and used a touch of superglue to be sure. You must trim and heat the pod to snug the fit or you will have gaps without screws.
Here is the finished product and to me it looks very good.
