That spec-v driver sucks.....that car is capable of 15.1 bone stock....

He also "red Lighted" he ran before the green, and lost to a foul.

I did my oil change today, so I took her over to the 8th mile track to get a feel for her (Tranny fluid tomorow, Well today actually) I had 3 races

Protege5 5spd Intake/complete exhaust line, from custom shop.

I took him by about 4 car lenths

Mazda3 2.3 S-GT Hatch 5spd BONE Stock

This had to be one of my most favorot races to date, we were side by side the whole track, and I started to inch ahead at the top of 2nd, and through third, we ran after the line for a bit, & I kept inching ahead. I didnt beat him off the line, I over powered him. Im not sure why Im so suprised, I have a better 1/4 mile time then the Stock Mazda3 2.3L S-GT anyways.

Ahh it still feels really good. :)

Last was..

Mazda3 2.3L 4 door Sport Shift Auto with an Intake & Exhaust line
however it had 3 amps and a chunk of speakers lights and this that and the other in it, I pulled up next to check out his 3 & we started chatted then raced for fun (I told him, I have beat a few Mazda3 2.3L 5spd's already, but we go anyways as its just for fun.

What we both expected to happen did, I dogged him off the line, and built about 6 or 7 car lenths on him (At least) when we hit the line.

Ended up chatting after with him and checking out his buddies H23 (Thats Right H23, not a H22) Accord, with a R34 front end conversion (Very well done, they used a actual R-34 bumper and fit the accord angel eyes to it.) & a CF hood& ground splitters that flow nice. The Crap is fricken powerfull over 200whp out the box motor. (J-spec engine of course)

Ahhh what a great night, I had a great time even though wating time was so bad I only got 3 races in.

Next week Tuesday Ill be back at the 1/4 and should get me my high 15 second time.

I ned to get more stuff out of her to save some more weight. (Next is the rear speakers and rack, how easy is it to pull out, anybody know?)

Rear seats, front splash guard, parcel shelf cover (sedan, so the parcel shelf is fixed...) rear speakers, rear spoiler.

4000rpm launch, and violent gear changes - on Australia's fastest drag track - Willowbank Raceway.

Time on the slip was

16.174@84.11mph

Oh, for the record, original factory delivered tyres.

edit: if i could put all my stuff together, it would have gone faster... my best 60 foot was 2.275, and i think my fastest trap speed has been up around 85mph...but the night i ran the 16.1, I was having traction issues..couldnt get heat into the tyres and the track prep wasnt as good as it has been in the passed (with just about everyone lighting up off the start)....

Unfortunatly, I've had enough of chasing a few tenths here and there so the project to turn my car into the worlds fastest and most powerful protege has begun... will be a 2 year project, but i eventually hope to get into the 13s...then 12s, with chemical supercharging...

Unfortunatly they dont do any track prep the night I go to the track. Its only $5 entry, they have times, but the track would be much better if prepped.

I should pull a med 15 on a prepped track

I got my tranny fluid put in.

I went with a special combo proven to be the best arround.

I used GM/Chrysler Syncromesh tranny fluid (Quaker State, couldnt find Penzoil, but who cares) with Lucas Oil Stabalizer. Alot of Honda guys do this and a few Mazda Guys tried it with great results.

I got to say Im impressed, and wasnt expecting it to actually have a noticeable difference, but it does. Shifts are easy & go in like butter.

I also hit the track last night, I kept the tire pressure normal, and had a friend in the car filming. The first race, I got some fluid that leeked from the car that went in front of me so my launch was crap, but It wasnt bad enough for me to lose, just enough to give thhe competition a little hope.

Some nice vids...how were you pulling that off? have a passanger with the camera? We're not allowed to race with passangers here..too dangerous...and, it adds extra weight and until recently less weight has been my only advantage!

I have an in car camera mount but only for front window footage (you've all seen it in action on twilight's quartermile run he posted here a few months back)..

Anyway... my next outing will be on July 15 - for some corolla sportivo whooping (not sure if they are called sportivo in america, they are the runX in japan)

Yeh, i'm hoping to break into the 15s... which will make me competative at least against the sportivos - last time we raced them they sort of cleaned me up but i was running high 16s with no weight reductions... hopefully i'll have the CAI built and in the car, and i'd really like to have the custom race header and full 2.5in exhaust sorted by then too...if I do, those dirty toyota's had better watch themselves ;)

I did a 15.9 2 summers ago with a AEM SRI, crappy 2.25 cat-back and AWR header. Running the stock 2nd cat. With a horrible start.

I don't have the timeslip anymore but I have witnesse.
