ok, I need some input on the following mods... b/c Im trying to decide which route I want to take..

hardpipes -- what do they really do? increase hp? or just make boost steady?

flywheel -- I want the fidanza..I already know what good it does, I just want some feedback

apex dp -- everyone just tell me how much you love it.. I've read all the threads, I just need some more convincing..

greddy profec b -- with stock pipes, will it hold 10 psi? or does it still fade?

I know there are tones of threads, but if ppl would just post your takes on whichever you have, I would GREATLY appreciate it...

get an fmic bud....lol if you have the money to spend..i promise you wont regret it.

the profec b will hold..though when your set up gets hot and pipes start to expand youll get a drop, then lag and slug.

definitely free up the exhaust man...big restrictor there.
my clutch is slipping so im gettin the fidanaza flywheel while im replacing the clutch so ill let you know afterwards.

all I can comment on is hardpipes - just got 'em. MUCH smoother torque curve and probably 8-10 whp from estimates I've heard. Butt dyno tells me it's stronger and pulls harder all the way to redline. LOVE those hardpipes. www.essentialspeed.com (my little sales pitch for ES)

hopefully this link will work - if not I"ll edit the post. Kevin's in the process of rebuilding the site (well, having someone else rebuild it) so it's in abit of disarray right now. I guess he figures working with cars is more important than having a slick website. And I TOTALLY agree with that!! Stage 1 includes a CAI as well, but he's done prototyping with my car to make sure he can just offer the two hardpipes to go with an Injen CAI - we're ironing out the bugs next weekend. Also, remember prices are in CDN$.

Edit: remember: ES stuff comes with ALL brackets, flanges, clamps, and his stage 1 comes with the HKS SSQV WITH recirculation fitting... it's TRUE bolt on unlike so many others where you have to drill here, bend here..... etc. Next weekend we'll be looking at setting up a dual valve setup... updates and a full writeup with pictures will follow after then.

uhhhh,, so its cheaper to get the stage II?? it says its $30 cheaper to get the stage II with the FMIC... that cant be right....

wait a tick.. I dont see that you would have to.. b/c wouldnt the ic piping be completely different from the stage I?

the beauty of ES is that stage 2 (fmic) bolts right to stage 1. so you do'nt have to throw away pipes, and you CAN do it in 2 stages.. It's a brilliant setup in my mind.

hey if you're in houston, pay a visit to autologic. they do really good work and their prices are pretty good too. once i save up the money, i'm gonna have them make a dp for me...a true dp, straight off the turbo. they quoted me around $400-$450 for the dp, midpipe, and carsound hi-flow cat. all stainless steel and tig welded.

yeah I know all the guys at autologic.. my friend got his sr20 swapped there, so I was there everyday.. ben is a freaking badass when it comes to pipes...

Couldn't find it either. The site's slowly being redone so hopefully it'll reappear soon.

canadian man.... its only $950 american.. and it comes with BOV, CAI, and hardpipes...

Don't know US prices, but here's the breakdown in Canadian...

HKS SSQV: ~$400.
Recirculation fitting: $75
Flange: $60.
Silicon fittings (no idea, but it's not the cheap-ass plastic/rubber stuff), so say $40 including clamps.
Filter: again guessing at $40.
Injen CAI (closest I can think of for comparison): $400

ES's price in Canadian dollars is $1280.

That leaves $265 for 3 stainless steel pipes, mandrel bent elbows, and his time. I think that's a damned good deal.

Plus he includes a bracket for relocating the rad overflow, and the little things are thought of like adding a mount for the A/C valve by the TB and a new vacuum source for the wastegate to give the BOV it's own dedicated source off the manifold.
