White smoke comming from tail pipe

:
2008 mazda 3
Ok so I added transmission fluid to my now wifes 2008 Mazda 3 and when I started driving it down the road white/light grey smoke started comming out of the tail pipe. I also changed the oil last night. Today was the first time actually driving down the road after oil change. But it was acting funky last night like transmission was stuck....wouldnt roll once in gear and hard to accelerate. So I added trans fluid today which I didnt know there wasnt any. It drove fine a couple blocks then bam the white smoke...so i just turned around and came home. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Ohhh and it wasnt overheating and no engine lights came on.

what kind of transmission, and did you add the fluid because it was low, or did you just arbitrarily add the fluid?

white smoke typically is oil from the engine.

how much oil did you put in the car? did you tighten everything up? oil filter, etc?

Its an automatic transmission. I got the trans fluid from the Mazda dealer and when I checked how much trans fluid was in there on dip stick it looked dry like there was none. I bought 6qts of fluid but only used 1.5 of them. Thats when it started running better but then started smoking. And for the oil change I put 5qts and yes I made sure everything was tight. Checked oil again today and it looked normal on the dip stick.

Check to make sure perhaps some oil didn't drip on the exhaust. As the car heats up, the exhaust could be burning it off. If the trans fluid level was almost out/dry, you're losing fluid and need to have a shop check for leaks.

Ya i looked for leaks but couldnt see any but that doesnt mean its not there. Im waiting for a friend of a friend to come check it out.
