Hi, i was wondering if anyone could tell me of a good set of HID BULBS to buy. I dont want the conversion kit though...too expensive. doesnt have to blind the s*** out of people; just some pretty white HID bulbs of good quality.
if ya know of any, let me know, cuz so far i havent had any luck.

do you have stock hid? if so go with a 6000k replacement D2S other wise you will pretty much have to get a conversion kit to make it HID. other wise you can prob get some ultra whites from silvanya. they seem to make some nice lights. never tried them personaly but a few people here have them and they look good

he has the "i" model... so its obvious he doesn't have stock HIDs
there's no such thing as "HID upgrade bulbs"... either they're halogen bulbs, or HID bulbs (for HID headlights)

I have the crappy halogens. sylvania sucks. I actually bought a pair (40 bucks) and i tried it outside the store, and it was the same s***...went back in and got a refund.

you dont need a conversion kit to have white lights (hids). my friends has them. i just want something thats other than crappy yellow, dont need to see 500 yards away lol

go get yourself some piaa s super plasma gtx, exact same colors as hids, around 80-90$ a pair,1 year warranty....

you're right, you don't need a conversion kit to have white lights, because ALL *legal* forms of headlights are white to begin with! the HID "white light" are at a slightly higher color temperature that *makes* you think it's "blue" or "white" because it's different from the rest of the headlights.... pity that practically everyone lets their eyes fool them

look, if you want the "HID look", then just get your bulbs with the blue tint of them... it'll look "mad tyte", but you won't get any performance increase from your lights, because blue SUCKS for illumination and vision.... they're NOT "HID bulbs" or "xenon bulbs".... they're just simply blue bulbs... those bulbs DO NOT use HID technology nor output such lighting, so using such a term is a farce! second, all halogen bulbs are "xenon bulbs", they all have trace amounts of xenon gas in them! They're called halogen bulbs because they have such gases in those bulbs (krypton too)!

so stop calling those bulbs that way in the future, you'll sound like a n00b

Can't imagine what headlights have to do with "Engine & Performance".

Moved to Appearance section.

Thanks man. Do you have those?

i had them, but not anymore, the availibility here where i live is none for know,so i got back to silverstars, and moving to hids in the next weeks...

but if you can get the piaa s i told you,you will be satisfied thats for sure, beautifull look, and great performance, really crisp light,a good compromise between halogens and hids....worth the price....and piaa s quality dosent have any negative points.....

hehe sorry about that gold, had my page opened on engine & perf. and forgot to put it on this forum.

theMan, alright, thanks for the schooling. i bought the ones that were painted blue and they didnt do anything. so yeah. well, i dont really care if the bulbs has xenon, poop or halogen, as long as it illuminates white and doesnt cost that much of a bundle.

Hahaha... poop bulbs. I hear they have a really bad light pattern. (rlaugh)

If you don't have an HID kit in the car, you can't get HID bulbs. You can get imitation bulbs that supposedly give "an HID look", but that's imposible without having a real HID kit. HIDs put out a much higher intensity light using less power overall. You can "white" lights that are better than crappy yellows that all cars come with. The glass on the bulb is actually blue, but the output you see looks white.

good news: i bought some piaas 7500k.

bad news: they are shipping them from hong kong...(sad1)
