its time for some new rubber and i'm debating on which tire to get. I've narrowed to down to either the Azenis rt-615, the hankook z212, or the bridgestone re-01r. Have you guys used any of these tires?
I've had the Azenis RT-615. They are a great tire- but I was using them not only as a street tire but also as an autox tire and occassionaly track tire. Wet traction is surprisingly good as long as there is at least 1/2 the tread depth, otherwise hydroplaning is a very real possibility. They are loud on just about any road surface. Their stiff sidewalls heighten steering response while making the ride stiffer.
Same goes for me. I have been using RT-615 for the last 2 seasons for autox.
They are a sure value. The RE-01R is suppose to be stickier and widthstand heat better then the Falkens, but with not as stiff shoulders. I might try the Bridgestones next season.
As for the 'kooks they lack in braking grip compared to the others if they are not shaved. Not many people are running the 'kooks up here now. Most are on Falkens but the Bridgestones are supposedily faster.
its purely street driven but i live in an area with alot of mountian roads and small curvy roads and enjoy spirted driving. i would autox but i never get weekends off to go
i'm in need of a new set of tires soon (front are bald and decided to get a full set) its my daily driver but also track car, any suggestions on a good tire?
i dont auto x. its just my daily driver, and ive got some good twisty roads in my area, so i go down those frequently.lol
actually its the FZ4, not 4. my mistake. but nontheless, still very impressed with the tire thus far. been little more than a week so far with the wheels on.
