Blaupunkt VS Fosgate up front

I've decided to upgrade my front speakers with either one of theses 5x7s :

Blaupunkt PCxi573 3 way speakers rated at:
Sensitivity: 94 dB
Frequency Response: 45-22,000 Hz
Recommended RMS Power: 80W
Peak Power Handling: 240W
Impedance: 4 ohms

Rockford fosgate FRC3257 2 way speakers rated at:
Sensitivity: 88 dB
Frequency Response: 40-22,000 Hz
Recommended RMS Power: 60W
Peak Power Handling: 120W
Impedance: 4 ohms

I plan on amping them at about 40W RMS eventually, but for now they will run straight from the stock HU. Which should I go for?

I want something with decent bass up front (doesn't need to be uber loud, since I'll be getting 6x9s in the back for that), but I really want good clear mids & highs without distortion at high volumes.

The reason I would rather have 5x7s in front rather than 6x8 is that I'd rather have good mids than bass up front, I gather smaller speakers give better mids... Is that true though, or just a myth?

Also, if I only run 40w RMS, am I better off with the speakers rated for 40W RMS? Does having a speaker rated at 80W running at 40 mean that it won't have enough juice to run properly?

I have experience only with the fosgate but I didn't much care for them, did you listen to oth with different CDs in a quite store?

Smaler speakers will be more geared for mids but usualy that refers to 4"s adn down. Mids are around typicaly considered 400-500 hz and up. I personaly have always loved 5 1/4s. But with speakers your ears need to be the judge.

What amp will you be using?

I can personally speak for the Fosgates...those are the exact speakers I put in my P-5 up front...and I am pushing them with 40 watts RMS from my amp. they sound pretty good to me.....very clear, crisp....they have plenty of response in all the ranges....

but like 1st said.....what you REALLY need to do is judge for yourself and listen to them both, MY tastes in music and the sounds of the speakers may not be to YOUR liking.......considering the investment....you really do need to be the judge....

but if you are just asking opinions.....I really do like my fosgates.

Don't know what amp yet... Thats just the 3d part of my 3 part plan ;)

Anyways, I don't know of any store around me that actually carries the blaupunkt speakers, I was looking at buying them online from soundomain. The Fosgates I've heard and liked alone, but they seemed a little weak on mids, and thats the main function of the front speakers in my planned system...

If i put 2 way speakers in there I will basically be left with 4 woofer cones and 6 tweeters but nothing at all for mids
