Which Radar Detector?

I think im actually gonna go with the Solo S2 (i think its exactly the same as the 8500, just cordless). I hate wires. I also like that I can just grab this and take it with me or toss it in the glove box etc without unplugging it all the time. Looks cooler too

There was a test that proved the Solo2 gave up quite a bit of responsiveness when compared to the 8500. You're sacrificing performance for convienence. Just be aware that you probably will not have the same exceptional range as the 8500 does.

Valentine 1 in my opinion is the way to go, if you look at people who speed, people with M3's and Porsche turbo's AMG Mercedes, if they have Radar detectors they have a Valentine 1, all my boys have them and I'm trying to scrap the cash up for one, The Valentine ads are true, one you drive with the arrows you can't live without them.

Umm, soory WRONG!

We have installed the Escort SR-1 (now updated to teh SR-7) in 3 BMW M3's (one was a blue convertable, my new favorite car) BMW 745il, Several Mercedes E class, a SL500, a S450(I forge the number on it, BIG ASS SEDAN!) 2 Ferraries, 3 proshces( 2 boxsters and a carrera) and more SUVs then I can shake a stick at! These are just the ones I am aware of as I only work at the shop one day and one night a week.

Hey ********, I'm looking into the S2 also. So far, only thing I have found on the net is equal in performance or lack of range compare to 8500. And on epinions.com they have people's opinions on the radar detector.

So you want a review on the Solo S2. Here it is:
If you like the Escort 8500, then you will like the Solo S2. Bottome line. Yes, you so sacrifice a small amount of strength by going wireless, but I think it is worth it. Just to let you know, I work at Best Buy so I didn't pay $329.99. And I also bought a 12 pack of AA batteries to go along with it. I have had it now for just over a month and it has saved me many times. Including tonight on my way home from work. 120 in a 65 is a big ticket.
