Which Mazda3 Engine/Trim?

Hello all.
I've lurked for a bit, but created an account just to post this. Recently I was rear-ended, and sadly my 2006 Mazda 3 S Touring was considered a total loss. I finally came to the decision that I want to get a new 2015 Mazda 3. Right now I have a few good offers on a 2015 i Touring w/Tech, and I'm considering that mostly. However, coming from the 2.3L I'm a bit concerned that the lack of torque and lower HP will be noticeable and will leave me dissatisfied. I test-drove one, and it felt nice, but I don't want to throw down 20 grand and then wish I'd spent an extra 2 or 3. What do ya'll recommend? Is the 2.0L about equal to the old 2.3? Is it worth the extra money to get the s touring?

I came from a 2005 3 GT 2.3 manual and now drive a 2015 3 GT S 2.5 manual. I test drove the 2.0 and 2.5 before deciding and I think the 2.5 is worth the extra $. Gets better mileage than my old 2.3 too!

Thanks for your reply. I'm going with an automatic, as I'm not all too comfortable with manual, and I also sit in traffic for a large part of my commute. The quote I got for the i Touring w/tech is $19,163, which also includes wheel locks, cargo tray, and all-weather mats. Based on this, what kind of deal do you think I could get on the s touring? Does the s touring need the tech package as well?

Finally bought my Mazda3! Went with the s Touring Sedan. Hoping to get Depp Crystal Mica, but if they can't find one, I'll be getting Jet Black. So excited!!
