Which glove box type does your MZ5 have?

Hi! Been away from this forum for a while! Anyway, we pay more for our cars compared to you in NA. With all extras I ordered for my MZ5 (parking sensors, chromed rear mirrors, engine heat system, towing bar (?) I payed almost $42,000.00. This is the "top of the line" model MZ5 in Sweden (if you don't go for a diesel, then you have to pay another $3,000-4,000. Yes, this is very expensive to you I guess. For this type of vehicle it is quite normal here in sweden. Just as you say you can buy tons off cool stuff "overthere". You have all reason to feel less "burned"! Still I think my Mazda 5 is worth every swedish krona (SEK) I paid for it. Have never been more satisfied with any car yet except for my 626 V6-92 I sold a couple of years ago.
So long!

626, which is also a Mazda (2thumbs). Glad you like it, sounds like a really cool model with all those toys I would say.

And now, let's talk about gas prices over there... (wow), just kidding of course! completely off-topic :D

Thanks for the info!

Actually, with the low value of the USD compared to SEK (swedish kronor) at the moment it's possible that a NA Mazda 5 theoreticly would be cheaper to import from NA to Sweden than actually buying it here. I'm not sure about regulations though. I guess the warranty is limited too - i.e. none!

I'm not sure if ESC is mandatory over there though. the NA ones do not have ESC.

I always wondered why one of my German classmates shipped back (to Germany) his semi-new US purchased Audi A4 student car once he was done with school (yeah, the guy was loaded). I did not believe that it was "cheaper" importing it than just buying one over there (I mean, importing an Audi in Germany??, come on!). But I do believe it now.

I had a 1991 Cavalier during that time and I was lucky the thing could drive to the State line without breaking first :p. Sold it for $700 bucks! (no, very good car, even in deep snow roads)

We're driffting way OT here...

I happen to work for a manufacturer of ESC, and the funny thing is that ABS and ESC are very simmilar. There is probably less than $100 total cost difference between the two. For whatever reason, Mazda must feel it's not worth the $100 this year to introduce it into the NA market. But by 2011 all vehicles (under 20k lbs GVW) in the US will need to have it.
