Which dash kit to get?

I have an 08 MS3 sport and have wanting to change out the stereo. been looking at a single din and want to fill the other part with gauges. What would be the right dash kit to get? Do I get the single din kit and alter to allow the gauges or would it be better to get a dbl din kit and the install would be easier?
I am getting the single din face that allows for 3 52mm gauges.

And if I go with the dbl din, what is the good one to get? I know that I will lose the display screen for stereo functions but would need to retain it for climate controls. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Scosche and Metra make your standard run-of-the-mill kits and will probably suit your needs.

If you want more of a factory fit, I would suggest Kanatechs. Pricey, but fit & finish is top notch.
